-the national debt may be the largest in terms of nominal value but the US also has the largest GDP in the world and when you look at it as a percentage of the GDP its actually relatively small compared to other nations

-they are trying to help the people suffering from downturn through their monetary action

    -unemployment was actually down 0.1%
-the weaker dollar is promoting less spending outside the us, more tourists from Europe and Canada, and is making American goods more competitive in the global markets

I don't really have the one magic key answer to winning the war in Iraq, I would assume scrapping their government and making a fair/equal one because the current one is basically a puppet for Iran(almost all Shias), training enough security forces to maintain relative calm

well actually if the government just spent it effectively it may have actually been better for the economy, but people would complain that they never saw any of the results as they would be subtle, much more so than getting a cold hard check for $600

I think your definition of a troll is somebody that posts information that you do not agree with. Whether you agree or not, it is discussion that keeps these forums going. Take a good look at your own responses. How often do you post supported responses to supported posts? i don't think you posted any information in response to our death toll "discussion", you simply labeled me and called for my ban. You may not want to take the time to research the topic and post rebuttle information yourself, you seem to rather just have that person banned. Some may consider that a sign of weakness and defeat. Why do you seem to be so threatened by some people? This is not meant to be a flame, just an obsevation.

My suggestion to people feeling pressure from the state of the US economy (notice, not taking any sides :) ) Do everything you can to create stability in your occuption. Put in that extra effort if necessary to show that you are a valuable employee. Cut back or eliminate drug, alcohol, and tobacco expenses. Maybe cut your 50-100 dollar a month cable tv bill, pick up some books instead. Cancel your $50/month gym membership, learn how to workout in your home. Sell any old junk you have laying around on ebay. You may be surprised that you have several hundred dollars worth of useless "junk" that has value on ebay. Limit or eliminate going out to dinner or going to movies. Put any of this saved money in a separate savings account. Most people can find that they can trim expenses and not affect their quality of life. Put your 600 or 1200 dollar economic stimulus payment in this savings account. Having 1000-2000 in the bank as an emergency reserve maybe very helpful in a time of need. Fedup actually had some very helpful financial information on his homepage including tips to help people in financial crisis.

what the fuck kinda ludicrous statement is that? you seem well educated and informed,,who spends only 600 bucks on non necessities in a year in america?? VERY FEW..

beyond that im losing over 600 dollars a month just out of my paycheck already due to this fucking mess they have gotten us in..

"600 bucks to supplement there disposable income till things even out".. thats a fucking moronic statement..

to be honest. at this point i dont want or feel i need anything from the scumbags.. surely not lower interest rates as i dont intend on ever borrowing worthless promissory notes ever again, nor do i have a need.

besides,at this point anything they do is to little to late..there is no fix this time around..

me and mine are going to be just fine through this no matter what happens..

i just feel as FUA stated, its a slap in the face to the american taxpayer to insinuate that 600/1200 is going to make one flip flyin fuck of difference in the average household in americas monthly budget much less yearly..

fuckem,,this time next year none of this will matter anyway..

$100 bucks a month isn't bad , + the much lower interest rates really have an effect on your monthly payments/cred card bills ect

Not if the dollar is worth less and you are paying more (while making the same amount of money you were). Is it THAT hard for you to grasp such a simple concept???

i have no credit card bills no monthly payments no need for a lower interest rates, and besides from what ive read credit card rates are actually going up and the banks are bein so strict on credit its almost impossible to get a loan if someone wanted one..

its all a fucking illusion created by the powers that be to keep folks from panicking till its to late for them.. when its past the point of hope for the average american (we wont even mention the global crash that it will be)then they will show the world how bad it is.

100 bucks a month aint shit. aint worth the paper its printed on..

ill tell ya what,, they can give me mine in silver coins.. yeah thats what they can do for me......

    100 bucks aint bad?? lmao....

worth less relative to what? the price of domestic goods are relatively stable(as seen by the 2.7% inflation rate...), if anything buying imports just becomes more expensive

fed offered $400billion in loans to the banks and they can use their crappy sub prime loans as collateral, so fed is taking on all the shit so the banks have every reason to loan more, and yes credit card interest has come down quite a bit, panic in part caused the great depression(well it made it worse), panic doesn't help anything in an economy, calm and investor confidence is what keeps the market stable not everyone thinking OMG the market is gunna crash lets sell sell sell... and then once everyone is selling the market does crash and then they say see i told you so
