Socialism: no one is paid anything, everyone is given everything they need in the most fairest and balanced way possible by a democratically elected government who manages the well-being of everyone who distributes domestic resources and utilities evenly, with no privatisation of companies and share holders.
If socialism was in charge then guns would do the talking as well. Whoever has the best military and the most powerful allies, always always wins (unless nuke vs nuke). These days its all about economic sanctions, backed up by deals and people who know how to lie aka politicians and business people clever enough to create laws preventing certain freedoms of people that cause division we now consider as left vs right wing.
Agree to disagree then. From one lesser privileged white person to an upper more privileged and educated person. /Bow to to you sir/mam.
Who is endorsing pure socialism, anyway? And when did this country become so dead set in the ways of capitalism? After the first twenty people became billionaires? I doubt people were talking about the evils of socialism too much when Social Security was created.
People talk about the evils of socialism because of a very carefully orchestrated propaganda campaign, then after people repeat said propaganda campaign talking points they pat themselves on the back because they think they're such free thinkers lol
What do you mean? In places like Norway they will give you unemployment but they also check and pressure you to apply for work. We do the same in America. Unemployment comes with the expectation it's a temporary state and it's not we will cut you off. I think some people think of those places as saying "well we all need to care for each other so if you don't want to work we will still feed you. It's wrong to do otherwise". This offends the hard working American. It's a very common right wing thing. I work so hard and how dare someone who will not gets MY money. You will starve. Strong unions and labor laws are why even high school drop outs make good money over there. We had this in the America in the 50's and 60's. It's why at that time you did not really need college unless you wanted to be CEO or work in something like the medical field or engineering. Fields where you NEED to know to help and serve people safely in a way the 12th grade can not cover. It's the idea that the worker has power. Without them what is there? So I don't see where laziness comes in. They don't have any values we did not have at one time. We also have plenty of people who abuse American welfare. Unless we 100% refuse to help anyone else for any reason this abuse is possible. Freedom, trust, privilege, whatever you call it means the person you give it you to can misuse it. I know some anti-socialist people would support this. A true Darwinian animal world. If you can't work sucks for you I can and will. Norway or another European nation with Democratic Socialist ideas on tax or welfare don't mean there is not a class system. The "poor" as simply not as hungry and homeless. It does not mean someone who is a hard worker with good ideas can not have a large house and 10 million Euro or Krone. It does not mean they don't have a free press or speech either. Even the most right wing parties there support things call Bernie Sander Stalin for. And they do so for our American Republican vales. We will take care of our people and protect our country since we love it. Only Americans have this issue with the word socialism. As for the robot thing that is also coming. It's why many blue collar industries are threatened now or about to get threatened. Hell, even white collar too. A machine is always faster and more accurate and it never needs a break. It will just work until it needs maintenance. When this world comes I think people will get over the anger of the struggles of chasing the Capitalist dream. Art and higher thinking is only possible if base needs are met. Like is DaVinci going to paint if he's homeless and has not eaten in 2 weeks? Probably not. That only comes when he is safe and full. When we don't need to work 40 hours what then? In the 50's they thought for sure that kind of schedule would end and we would still be American and free. Machines and science making life easier and more intelifent was big then. Like the 1950's housewife was very big on things that make her life easy. Washing machines, a new kitchen, etc. We need those ideas back. Life is only easier when we evolve and think.
Socialism Is Evil. "Can a moral case be made for taking the rightful property of one...and giving it to another to whom it does not belong? I think not. That’s why socialism is evil. It uses evil means (coercion) to achieve what are seen as good ends (helping people). We might also note that an act that is inherently evil does not become moral simply because there’s a majority consensus." -Walter Williams, Ph.D. of Economics, George Mason University "It is impossible to introduce into society a greater change and a greater evil than this: the conversion of the law into an instrument of plunder. … But how is this legal plunder to be identified? Quite simply. See if the law takes from some persons what belongs to them, and gives it to other persons to whom it does not belong. See if the law benefits one citizen at the expense of another by doing what the citizen himself cannot do without committing a crime." "The [socialist] state is the great fictitious entity by which everyone seeks to live at the expense of everyone else." -Claude-Frédéric Bastiat, Economist and member of the French Liberal School "Keep your filthy fucking hands off my goddamn money, you mother fucking beggars army of fucking liberals!" -tumbling.dice, a regular person
Williams believes in laissez-faire capitalism. He doesn't believe in a minimum wage, welfare, anti discrimination laws, gun laws, central banks, and thinks you should be able to sell your own body parts. And he promotes secession from the Union. Sounds like a nut job. Let's look at this statement: Of course that sounds great....until you look at the interest of the country and it's citizens and not some back ally robbery. Is it not moral to tax those who have more than they can possibly use in a lifetime to aid those less fortunate not due to any circumstances of their own? Like taxing some dude who inherited millions and does nothing and helping some poor widow trying to raise her children in a ghetto? Or using tax money to build libraries, schools, or run the government? Is it immoral to compensate someone for taking land their to build a defense project? Or an interstate highway? Or a public park? Or to clean up dangerous toxic waste? Think of what our interstate system would look like without eminent domain. It wouldn't exist. I'm not bothering to look at the others.
I don't find it evil. I hope this country gets some of the social standards that other countries already have. It's long overdue.
Capitialism has enough contradictions to fill a library. It also has a body count that is as hideous as communism. No ones economic development has been a shining example. As far as the words of an economist, I am one and I know you can always find one under some rock to “prove” that the greatest good for the greatest number in the long run is not as good as the greatest good for the privileged few. They came out of the detritus to support Trump.
I think you're right about the body count. I had a text about Social Problems and it died with an old computer. But this is a place I would put a quote about how dilapidated neighborhoods are ridden with crime, and how the marginalized and those stricken with poverty are thrust into lives of crime, and how it's not really their fault. Anyway, I don't have the book anymore.
Even worse. They will eventually begin to support radical political movements and extreme ideologies in their frustration. The nazis got their support from the German poor who felt ignored. More recently, ISIS recruited the young who felt rejected by their society. Let that sink in. What happened to your computer? If the hard drive remained functional, have someone with skills take it out and read its contents with a USB adapter. Your files may yet be recoverable.
Capitalism exists because, Money does all the talking. Yes, money talks and bullshit walks. Bullshit like the Nazis Mafia and KKK.
Capitalism works well for people who are desperate to escape their own thoughts. Money talks, yes, but it rarely has anything of worth to say. Meanwhile those with an actual voice go largely unheard and unacknowledged.
1819: Slaves benefit from slavery because their owners provide them with food and housing in exchange for labor. 2019: Taxpayers benefit from taxation by having a stable and safe society in exchange for labor
