Dang Persephone doesn't crawl out until May up here! Those olives look good. How about some authentic Italian pasta, jagerhans? We had an Italian family that had just moved from Italy that lived in our upper duplex for a while when I was a kid. The wife made the best pasta I have ever tasted.
this one is for the omnivores . dunno if this pasta recipe is popular..-but it's easy and a best loved italian classic of obscure origins. carbonara take one egg per person and separate the yolks. discard whites (save them for omelettes) . with a fork mix the eggs in a bowl with grated parmigiano cheese (lots of. you want to make a dense,hard creme) and freshly ground pepper (a ton). cook your spaghetti as usual in abundant salty water while frying thin bacon stripes or cubes in olive oil -don't burn'em. when pasta is cooked, strain it , pour it in the bowl with eggs and quickly mix it up together with oil and bacon, add some more pepper and grated cheese on top and serve. real parmigiano cheese and good olive oil are crucial. (good for me that living in a rural area i have access to crude homemade organic olive oil from my neighbors. :2thumbsup others recipes to follow...
