This is my sister and me back in 1954 or so, Christmas. I lived in the foundation of a house for seven years as my father was building the rest. Heated by two coal potbelly stoves. The roof leaked.

Nice! 1954 I was a freshman in high school. I wish that I had been a camera buff all these years.

    Nicely done Scratch.

I am trying to master the photoshop art of making new photos look like worn black and white photos.

Been meaning to change my avatar to a photo of me. But kept putting it off. I’m a lazy bum

i love the picture with the train. 54 i was six years old and in the first grade. had already lived three or four different places.
that year i think we moved from truckee california where i started kindergarten, down to that miserable valley to sacramento.
fortunately we only had to live there another couple of years, and by the time i was 8 we were living back up in the sierras at colfax.
i've got a whole ton of pictures from then, but none of them on line where i could link to.

burried way deep far back in my gallery on fur affinity i've got a couple, but they're not that far back in time. i'll have to check. i know of got some from the later 50s through 60s.
those i think i may have already linked before. several years ago.

well this was my dad where he worked at the time, in the early 60s.

i've got pictures going all the way back from when he was in infant in the 1920s,
just none of them where i could link to. same for of myself from the time i was born.

    Looks like a switch yard?

I still have all the buildings but my father tells me I destroyed the train early on...somehow.
We replaced it with an American Flyer steam engine set which I still have, maybe a 1955 model.
