Also, I've no need to defend the original post because I pasted that from websites, it doesn't say "No one else signed it," It simply states that Obama did sign them, and that's factual, non bias information!!!
I think that your expectations of what Ron Paul can do are a bit naive based on your posts here. I don't have to go out and have coffee with you to understand your posts. Considering that you, I, and Tyrsonwood, were the only ones engaging in this thread when you made those statements, I'm not in error to assume they were directed at me in some part. I do agree with you on that. (the name is Noxious, not Nitrous. Damn hippies, always thinking about getting high. )
lol that's exactly what I was thinking too. Look, let's just drop it. My fight isn't just for Dr. Paul, my fight is on behalf of freedom. Maybe it does seem a bit silly from a secondary perspective, I just can't see bringing up my children in such a toxic enviorment. Can we be friends? Also, I'm sorry if it seemed like I was attacking you in anyway, that wasn't my intention. I suppose I can be a bit frantic, perhaps I should just do as you do and not state my political opinions at all.
Got nothing against you at all, like you said I don't really know you except through your posts. I just always play devils advocate a bit and try to view all sides of a topic. The truth is always somewhere in the middle. Trust me I did the same to Obama supporters who I worked with during the last election that spoke the same about him as you do about Paul. Dealing with opposition forces you to re-access your position and the reason behind it. Ron Paul may be, at this point, the best choice to elicit some of the changes needed. I'm just not very optimistic about him being elected and if he is, I doubt he will have as much success as you would like in implementing said changes. Sad to say this country does need fixing, but just as sad I doubt any one person/administration will be able to accomplish it, especially in one term. But beyond that, no reason we can't be virtual friends.:cheers2:
:cheers2: Cheers! You know, there's a reason he's a politician. To some degree, I can see what your saying. I just think Obama's deal was something more sinister. Ron Paul wouldn't be able to do much cause he threatens the power structure. Obama was never working for the people, therefore he didn't really have to do anything to benefit us, and that's where my hatred for him stems from. He took advantage of a lot of young minds who were really expecting a good change, and many are still brainwashed.
NoxiousGas, I don't think it's fair to question my reading comprehension skills when it comes to what you've written. After all, it was you, yourself, who said, "sorry I should have worded it "the Bush administration." ;-) At any rate, Bush chose his Administration, didn't he? And as for your claim that no president has had much power for at least fifty years, are you intimating that elections are bogus? And, of course, this begs the question: If presidents have no real power to create any meaningful change, what do you propose as an alternative?
I think the elections could be bogus. I mean, I don't know how else Mitt Romeny would've won the primary..
I mean "bogus" in the sense that there's all this hoopla over getting someone into the seat of authority only to find out that he has very little power or authority to change anything. For instance, in the case of Obama, he said that the situation in Gaza is intolerable. However, he becomes president and does nothing about it.
Fuck if I know for a certainty, but it does seem that votes from the common folk aren't all it takes to get elected, correct? I have no clue as to what a viable alternative could be, do you?
I do know that continuing to play the game--pretending that the results of presidential elections will end wars and resource-grabs--goes beyond meaningless; it's extremely counterproductice.
Sorry... I've been busy all day and haven't been able to contribute. But you guys seem to be handling this rather well... Oh! and note, I didn't mention my political leanings either, if that's important at this point.
Lol well I already did vote for Ron Paul so my 1 day of glory is up. Just hoping he's on the ballot by some miracle in Nov.
