ya know thats pretty pathetic that youd insult the greattest drummer in the world just cause i posted it...

id like to see any of you drum for 40 days and nights without food or sleep..hell i bet ya couldnt go 3 days without food even without trying to drum round the clock that long

the fact is, nobody can play the tabla like him..and tabla is 1 of the most dificult drums to master

i've played hundreds of types of hand drums from a seneca water drum to a 300 year old djimbe to a 30 foot wide earth pit drum and a 25 foot tall drum made from a hollow tree and i tried the tabla (indian and morocan, morocans are easy and i loved mine..but indian..just way more dificult then any other drum)
on my wall above my bed is an apache war drum..unplayable because its ainciant tghe skin too dry but it was a gift along with a modoc hesadress made from bear bufalo and beaver (with the beavers face in the front..yes i know not very vegan of me , but comming from the sourse it came from i accepted it )(and no the modoc dont traditionaly make headresses, but this one did, and gave it to me with 3 eagle feathers)

everywhere i go, coast to coast i find drum circles, in the woods..hundreds of drummers gathered together beatting out the heartbeat of the earth..nyabinghi or building to a raging beat a frenzied conversation between hundreds..even thousands of drums..at a big gatherinhg a circle might be 2000 drummers and you feel the earth dance to the beat from miles away..you literaly feel the beat through your feet..the whole earth pulsing....its an energy like no other..

you know..ive witnessed a few firewalkings..my bvest freinds a firewalker in fact.. and the drum takes such an important part in that
usualy its a slow steady shamanic beat..puts you in a trance like state so you dont burn your feet as yoiu walk across the coals.. but then i saw god zeus (thats his name and his ego fit the name) try doing a firewalking without the right preperation with drums just whaling away in an ego beat (when drummers try to drum loudser and faster then everyone else and end up trying to drum faster then theyre able and stumble over the beat) and one of my freinds did the firewalking that day..he was ok having had alot of meditation experience he put himself in the right mindspace but several others burned theyre feet
mostly because of zeus's ego..wrong placfe anbd time for a firewalking..he just wanted to show off...and the fact that he didnt take the importande of the proper drumbeat into concideration.

i know a few sundancewrs too and havent seen 1 myself yet (ive been thinking about doingtf 1 someday though..but thats about as hard core as u can get..not sure im up to it yet) but im very sure the drum spirit is equaly as important in the sundance too..
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQrW-3BZtyQ yup just found this
notice the slow steady shamanic beat
google shamanic journies and you'll see the power of a hand drum..
when played with the right intention you can be taken right out of your body by the beat
ive only done 2 shamanic journies years ago..but was really intence

LOL honestly man wtf you post a essay for every discussion that doesnt have a point. Who cares about fuckin soul drumming you drum you make music you like it theres no competition thats like saying ukulele has more soul than a electric guitar because that haiwan dude played one and he sang sad songs that touched your heart and now nothing can be better than it for life:hat:

Well there is no such thing as the "best drummer" because "best" all comes down to personal taste. Though just about anyone into percussion will tell you that Buddy Rich is regarded as the most skilled drummer of all time.

Of course you probly hung out with him AT THE GATHERING and out drummed him because he needed to go eat after the third non stop day AT THE GATHERING and then you went and saved some crack kitties out back in the garden AT THE GATHERING because the trees told you to go there and you've had locks for 18 years AT THE GATHEING and you saw some young punk dying from drinking "alcahol" and then a crackhead said you were god AT THE GATHERING and your bus runs on vegetable oil AT THE GATHERING and then you reported pat again AT THE GATHERING even though you don't care what he thinks or says and then you went back to THE GATHERING and saw jesus playing the tabla for 40 days and 40 nights AT THE GATHERING and you showed him a thing or to because he wanted to fight you but you know how to bring down a man 20 times your size with just one finger and from practicing sparring AT THE GATHERING and you have a 2222 degree black belt AT THE GATHERING and all the ladies can't resist you AT THE GATHERING and then you saw another guy playing a drum kit and of course he had no soul so you calmed him down with your one finger take down technique AT THE GATHERING and then you rescued more crack kitties who lived in a garden AT THE GATHERING

SE, That whole firewalking thing is a crock of shit. I've walked on hot coals several times without burning my feet and without being in a trance. Got the balls to do it after they did it on mythbusters. Also alcohol and I are sorry about ruining everyone's life.

You know, it's sad that someone with as much amazing experience on this planet feels as though he still has to convert people. No one finds a path due to someone else's words. You have great stories, SE, but you continually miss the point of the whole 'love and harmony' thing. It's not your job to 'save' anyone, and it feels alot of times like you are denying everyone else's path as being valid. That's not what the rainbow tribe is about, and you know it. I play Hand drums, exclusively, but that doesn't mean a drummer on a kit can't reach musician's nirvana. Bottom line, your experiences aren't any more important or spiritual than anyone else's.

It wouldn't matter if someone else posted it. I'd still say my shoe has more soul

Most of us have other commitments... jobs, family, education, not gatherings
I'd also like too see you play this on your hand drum

I went 3 days without food with my sister earlier in the year. Mum made an insane roast at the end of it... best meal of my life!

3 days is nothing i can forget to eat that long without intentionaly trying (and a roast at the end of a fast is so incredibbly dumb, i made the mistake of an ethiopian feast after my 1st 10 day fast..huge huge mistake.. after a fast ya want steammed veggies only, or a way over cooked soup/broth..) it takes 14-30 days to complete a fast..ive come close but never completed 1 (you get a yellow coating on youir tongue which vannishes when youir ready to complete the fast)
even 14 days is easy the only rewason i stopped that 1 was new years i was tripping and had a tiny sip of beer that made me incredibly sick..if i didnt have to take any meds now id love to do a 30 day or longer.. both times i was riding my unicycle from nyc to dc on peace marches..1st the great peace march, then an annual one i had done many times..funny thing was on the 1st 1..the gpm i was on maybe day 6, just had gotten past the hard part (after day 4 u lose all hunger) and ram dass comes up to me and offers me french fries..i didnt realize who it was at the time even till some dudes like what did he say to you dont you know who that was? that was ram dass.. and i told him he offered me french fries but i said no cause i was fasting..and this dude acted like that was some kinda majical revelation..lol everytime i hung out with ram we just hung out and shot the shit ..ya know just talked like freinds which was just how he is unless your like sitting at his feet expecting all the wisdom of the unicverse to be revealled..then he shifts gears into babba das mode..its funny ya can kinda see it in his eyes when he does..like gets a far away look like hes speaking from a place outside himself
i remember in caliu kept having to shoo ppl away just so hed get some peace (and dozens of ppl kept commin up to me askin if i wass ram just cause i was lil older dude in a chair..lol that was hilarius)

anyway point was.l to break a fast ya gotta do it smart.. small ammounts of very easy to digest foods.. after the rnc protests here we had hundreds of arrests..many of my friends they practiced jail solidarity after seeing the conditions of the prisons..refusing to be released (they would be released if they gave theyre real names) all of them (except 3 or 4 who gave names) went on hunger strikes..for 3 weeks
the women were held in an abandoned prison with no air conditioning and no plumbing.. they took it a step farther in 100 degree heat went on a water strike..really risking theyre lives..on day 4 of the water strike and i think 21 of the hunger strike they were all released
in preperation for that we had been cooking up a weak soup on the chimeny of the adobe oven at lots of love , way overcooking so it was like a mush..just to get some nutrition into them but make it very easy to diggest
my freind kate was 1 who had done the water strike..luckily with a lkil care they were all fine in a few hours..but in the last hours inside things werre getting pretty dangerouse for them all..
the media never even mentioned the hunger strike or water strike..only mentioned the hundreds of drummers that gathered outside the jail as a minor annoyance
never mentioned that anyone was being held in a condemned prison..or anything..
my great uncle that i was named after(middle name) had done (and died from) the longest hunger strike in the history of ireland..78 days..and although in the end he did succumb to it it was effective in creatting the changes he was fighting for (luxi ya may have heard of him? last name mcsweeny i believe)( was a very well known poet i believge, or writter, revolutionary and was told by my great grandmother that his funeral was bigger then kennedies) (oh lux..if u have heasrd of him, ive been searching for some of his writtings for years, but had the name wrong till my sis did some geneology research..i originaly heard it was mcgoldrick ..but his names really terrence mcsweeny i believe
    actualy this is him http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terence_MacSwiney
maybe a great great uncle? i dunno id hafta ask sis..was way back tho..

omfg,, now you think you know it all on how to break a fast... puhlease.... and then you write a whole bloody essay on how to do it the right way, your way...

you are not the GURU you seem to believe you are in all things... In fact i have yet to see anything about you that i admire , look up to or respect and find it completely and totally amusing that all the folks in this forum have finally woken up to you...:cheers2:

SE you think you are God with the whole 40 days and 40 nights your not kidding anyone. You are acting like a fucking crack head yourself. I've had more coherent conversations with people who are strung the fuck out. Gosh, I don't believe anything you say or the 'experiences' you go on about. shaddap. You come back and bring us all together which is a good thing, as we can all agree on one thing; you are a tool.
