Only just found this thread,and I watched New Lives In the Wild (With Ben Fogle)around 3 mths or so ago now.Loved the show.For those who didnt watch it,Ben meets people who had left their old lives/jobs and moved/created a new life somewhere else,usually living off grid.Very inspiring to watch,and a good insight into what can be achieved.Ben himself was part of an experiment back in 2001,where a bunch of UK residents applied to live on this remote island off the coast of Scotland (Taransay).They had to live as a community and from what I recall,be as self sufficient as possible and live off grid.
