Indiana passed a law allowing it's citizens to use force against police officers in the event that the police illegally enters their home.

Interesting. Why not start with the permit to tazer eachother first (if the situation asks for it only of course!)? :p

Fuck the popos, if they think they are so above the law that they can terrorize citizens then they deserve to be shot IMO...I know, I'm such an evil person aren't I?

Sure......your Dead body wouldn't be charged for attacking the police.

It's my understanding that any time the Po Po is being attacked they can attack back. So does this mean there could be legal shootouts between citizens and police. There seems to be a lot missing here...

INDIANA is relatively devoid of high vantage points being somewhat glacially flattened,

    or something like that

Indiana First State to Allow Citizens to Shoot Law Enforcement Officers

The first of its kind in the United States, the law was adopted after the state Supreme Court went too far in one of its rulings last year, according to supporters. The case in question involved a man who assaulted an officer during a domestic violence call. The court ruled that there was “no right to reasonably resist unlawful entry by police officers.”

The National Rifle Association lobbied for the new law, arguing that the court decision had legalized police to commit unjustified entries.

Tim Downs, president of the Indiana State Fraternal Order of Police, which opposed the legislation, said the law could open the way for people who are under the influence or emotionally distressed to attack officers in their homes.

“It’s just a recipe for disaster,” Downs told Bloomberg. “It just puts a bounty on our heads.”

I am pretty sure here that if you point a gun at a policeman (or even something that looks like a gun) that they can shoot you. They aim to kill they do not aim for your shoulder or the gun. I guess it is your choice but I would not recommend following that law.

I like how the bill refers to police as Servants rather than Officials.

The method I use with cops is to fall down sobbing, hug their ankles and beg for mercy.

    Uh-huh. That's what I do.

Seriously, I don't think it's too swift an idea to open fire on the cops, law or no law. Best thing to do with cops is avoid them at all costs.

Not to put words in his mouth but I'm pretty sure he just meant-try your best to just avoid them...and when you DO run into them just be polite and don't give them a reason to mess with you further.

That sounds more reasonable to me as well :p

I guess we must have a different kind of police force. Although here especially traffic police get a lot of shit that I can understand I really was treated correct in all encounters I had with the police. If I have a clean conscience there simply is no need to avoid them at all cost (although i stand on guard when I see them automatically as well, especially in traffic :p)

I guess it sounds a bit pathetic and cliché to piss on the police all the time (unless of course they really are the typical 'pigs' or corrupt assholes they are portrayed as). Here they go out of their way to treat you PC and following all rules most of the time. I have seen them often do good work and I know some have that job for the right intentions, so that's why I'm often wondering if your police over there is really that shitty or if it's a lingering stereotype... or something else? :p

Hm. I've run into all kinds of cops. There used to be this crooked cop back where I used to live that I had a run in once when I DIDN'T follow the advice of just doing what they say without question (because the cop was a total doucebag)--who, after that time (all charges got totally dropped from then), he would hang out by my old house and look for me on the street and if he'd see me he'd stop me for the dumbest stuff... tried to get me for public drunkenness outside my house when I wasn't doing anything....jay-walking and other dumb things... the asshole flat out told me that he goes around looking for me and I better have eyes in the back of my head.

I've met some just neutral- not awesome, not terrible cops.
And I've run into some cool cops too...cops that actually aren't out to just arrest people and have given (nice) warnings even when they could have arrested people.
There are all kinds of cops... I just find it easier overall to avoid them because you don't know what type you're going to run into.
