I would love a huge revelation to come but i think its going to take ALOT of time. I talk to the kids in my school about peace vs. war, why violence is neccesary, ect. I only get a handful of them who actually care about whats going on in the world, sometimes new people emerge and we can reach out to them! Some are just simply too lazy..I think its going to take a long time but we have got to try and reach out to the youth. So i do think a "hippie" movement is underway..but you've got to look past the posers and get into the peoples mind, body, and soul. You have to be the change you want to see in the world even if it only attracts 1 person at a time!
well, like u said their is lots of chaos going out in da world right now... da questions that i ask myself all da time are.. .what r da reasons for us to be here in this world ? : just to work for da system, fall into marriage, and just be part of the routine of society ?? i think their is so much more out their... that we can all help each other to figure out as one .. whoosh !!
I sometimes think the hippie movement affected people in a way that even today, a lot more people are un-afraid to be who they are. Think about the fifties, then think of the time right after the 60s and 70s. A lot more self-expression by youth. Think about the GLBT people, they have less fear of being persecuted now than they ever were. There are pros and cons to everything, but I do think the hippies had a huge effect on our society. I just wish I was there for the beginning of this revolution that (in my opinion) is still going on and changing every day.
:cheers2: Oops, Ur too young to Cheer with beer, but you sure have a handle on the movement of the '60s. I was there; lived my adolescence in the repressed '50s and saw the sea change of attitude in the late '60s. And even tho the Golden Age of free expression was mostly in the '70s with a regression in the '80s we have yet to go back to what the fundamentalists and other conservatives would like.
Which is an improvement nonetheless, don't you think? and I don't drink beer, sir. Mostly because of the taste moreso than my age...haha
Ahh... but beer is the new wine. I used to hate beer, until I realized that the only beer that I'd had up to that point was worthy of hate. A good beer is a complexed thing of beauty, like a good wine.
true. but there is such a big range of good and bad beers/wines. I can't afford the good stuff, so I'll just stick to my straight liquor.
