What always puzzles me, is why when people expect complete equality, they feel the need to shout their orientation from the rooftop before they even say hello.
With one guy I worked with, it was 7 years before I realised that he was gay. Needless to say, to me it did not make the slightest difference.

I am not saying that people should be secretive, but I don't want to know a person's orientation before I know their name.
