The bong CAN attribute to getting much higher than just a pipe. A big, concetrated rip of smoke would get you much higher than taking a few hits with a pipe. Also, he is paying for durability, glass thickness, height, namebrand etc. People like to sit with and appreciate their glass. It gives you a different feeling than using a cheap shitty piece, and as hashbean says, it's kind of like a feeling of pride.

 

Seconded. I like the idea of having a awesome piece that everybody loves. I've gone over to peoples houses just to use their bongs before. 8 footers, $200 bongs, always nice to hit a great bong.

I couldn't help but laughing when I read through these posts. I understand that some people arent going to drop $300 on a piece of glass, and if you're one of those people, good for you. That's your choice. All I ask is that you stop trying to make decisions for other people, and that you don't hold it against anyone who does decide to spend that kind of cash. It's kind of ridiculous that me buying a $300 bong seems to almost anger some of you.
