    http://www.theguardian.com/music/2015/jul/16/neil-young-bans-his-music-from-streaming-due-to-worst-sound-quality

HE DOES care about the quality of digital sucking compared to analog and has even addressed it many times......

It would be interesting IF HE WAS THE FIRST 1 TO START USING 100% ANALOGUE AGAIN!!! (NOTHING AT ALL DIGITAL (Would be amazing)) Then his records WOULD BE WORTH GETTING!!

bullshit. if he wants people to hear his music, then he should let it be available for the people to hear. then, if they want to spend more money to get a higher quality recording of it, they are free to do so.

It is because of the money, and that's ok.

Never heard of him, but good on him.

If they get upset that downloading piracy strips them of money, I dunno how free streaming does them any good either.

isn't analogue radio "analogue streaming" ... the quality of streaming media depends on the bitrate and 320kbps mp3 streamed is going to sound better than FM radio, and unquestionably better than AM radio. sure you can compress the audio to the point that sounds really bad, such as was common when people had 56k or slower modems, meaning that the bitrate of streaming audio had to be less than 56kbps. Now with increasing internet speeds there's no reason to have to skimp on bitrate and the quality of only going to go up.

    Yes, quality continues to improve.

Neil is more pissed off that his vaunted Pono player isn't selling well. It's overpriced crap.
I could buy 4 android devices (that do way more than play music) for the same price.

I listen to streaming music from hundreds of channels, none of it less than 128mbs, lots at 320!

So that's a huge improvement over a few years ago.

I don't think Neil has had a hit in a long time, so taking his streaming music down won't really hurt anyone.
If you don't have his "good" music yet, you must be under 12 yrs old....

No doubt Neil is hurting financially from the Pono thing and otherwise. He's bad with money.

I think the best sound I have found online is either WMA or REAL (32k Real sounds amazing <<>> 64k WMA sounds amazing also)
