I am looking for suggestions for a good slippery lube that is long lasting. Have been using Astroglide water base and it has not been satisfactory for extended intercourse or more than one partner...please help.

Quite frankly I've never found there to be any real difference in any of them, although maybe KY has the edge.

With this in mind I just use the bottles of Super Slik. It's cheap. It's got a nice applicator pump action nozzle, and does what it's meant to do.

I second the baby oil but we don't need condoms. We only use it after oral because it is kind of funky in the mouth that's not to say that I won't go down on my wife after application but it is better without.:)

I strongly recommend Liquid Silk, available from Amazon. Been using it for over seven years.

Have you tried natural coconut oil? It feels great and tastes good too! And totally safe too!

Slippery Stuff is what we use. Works extremely well and is water based. Been using it for 7 years or so.

Silicon based is good for longevity.

Over the counter drug store lubricants are not nearly the best. That leaves out lubes such as KY and Astroglide as they are made with more chemicals than needed and can be quite sticky. Look for ones that use more organic ingredients. Common kitchen cooking supplies aren't the best either. Cooking oil or olive oil while remain slippery are usurped by lubricants designed for sex. Never use products like Vaseline, baby oil, or mineral oil. These contain petrochemicals and other potentially harmful ingredients. If you do you might as well use, as the second poster suggested, motor oil.

I recommend these types of lubricants based on your intended purpose.
Oil based lubricant - Pure coconut oil works well (I have used it to great success especially massage leading to intercourse). Beware, these oils can break down latex condoms though so if you are using them for birth control or STD protection stay away from oil based lube. If you want a great massage oil go for it. Be sure to bathe with unscented soap and water afterwards. The oil can leave a coating that can allow bacterial infection to fester.
Silicone lube - is safe with most condoms but will ruin a silicone based toy. It lasts long, doesn't need to be reapplied as much, and is very slippery. This type of lube is best for anal sex and long sessions of intercourse. Another perk is silicone is water resistant so if you are going to have shower, swimming pool, or any other water involved sex this is the best lube for that.
Water based lubricant - It can be used with silicone and latex products as in condoms and toys. It shouldn't stain the sheets or anything else it comes in contact with. It isn't that greasy and the light texture makes it where you may want to reapply occasionally. Adding a little water or spit to get things wet again works as well.

Water based is my favorite. My sex partners and toys appreciate using this type of lube for easiest clean up. Get a lubricant of your choice that is a high quality and highly recommended. Search the internet for opinions and as I said earlier stay away from the drug store offerings.

I don't like KY jelly for the reason you say, it becomes sticky...

My skin doesn't react nicely to anything flavoured either soooo I stick with water based boring stuff... If I need it... Which isn't often. Silicon though is good for applying to wetness as it really gets slippery and lasts so if you're wearing a butt plug, it's like a must IMO

This is also the main drawback imho, it's quite hard to clean of your body afterwards.
