well i am a little weird when it comes to music, and listen to music as far back as the 50s to the 80s, and some random indie stuff thrown in occasionaly. But I don't listen to hip hop, pop, rap or any of that. I limit my ears to the likes of:

Traffic- the low spark of high heeled boys
Van Morrison- it's all over now, baby blue
CSNY- It's been a long time gone
The Carpenters- superstar
The kinks- a well respected man
Bobby Gentry- ode to billy joe
Sam the sham & the pharoahs- Little red riding hood

Modest Mouse, Tool, and Sonic Youth are my current favorite bands. Sonic Youth is sometimes very shitty, but I suggest Superstar, which is a Carpenter's cover. It's quite sad though.

 

yea i prefer the actual carpenter's version, which I believe is on my list that I gave him.
