I'm feeling a bit like I have a bird's nest on my head. But I certainly see progress. I have a couple of dreads formed in the back that are locking nicely at the roots. And lots of crazy loopy knots. I am going completely neglect. Dunno when I stopped brushing... October probably. Anyway, just need some encouragement. Someone tell me they will look better someday! I'd love to see some mature neglect locks!
They totally will get awesome looking. I could never do neglect dreads because I am impatient.. DX but I always find them so beautiful. I have seen timelines on other forums on neglect dreads and they do sort themselves out in the end as do all types of dreads. No matter what type of method you use they will get loopies and they will shrink, but they always continue to shift and tangle and grow into beautiful dreads. Now everyone has their own view on what beautiful dreads are, but I am sure you will grow to love yours. Just be patient this process takes much longer than backcombing or twist and rip.

Thanks everyone! Lovely locks, aFoolOnaHill! Here's a progress update. I'm approximately five months in. I just washed my hair so it's pretty much just frizz, not too impressive from the front. I still have a lot of loose hair, too. Also, had to throw in a pic of dat little guy just hanging out in the back.
