I live in Canada Ontario and I need a way to grow weed outside over the winter, I was thinking of geting a Wooden box and puting a glass over the top so the sun could get to them but the cold wouldent effect them. I can't grow inside because I still live at home and I need to keep them far away from my house so I can't hook it up with power cords and shit. Would the box with the glass work? If not what ellse could I do?
many people up here dig holes and put thick glass over them to start plants way early.. .my own kid does it...they have 3 or 4 right now that they used to start seedlings way back in early march...i was there today .unless you line them with hotwire you cannot insulate them enough to grow all year..i am told its brutal work to keep the snow off the glass i will post a link as soon as my kid returns a fucking phone call hotwire is the cable you put in your gutters to melt ice...available at hardware stores under various names...
i thought hotwire might be a member on here. i thought it was pretty brutal to bury some dude to take care of ur pot plants for the winter tho
I have read about certain strains that can grow in the mountain area, like Nepal, Himalaya... woldn't those types suit a rough climate? (giving them e chance to stai indoor for 2 weeks or so and aclimate them easy to the outside weather)
besides the cold thereĀ“s also a problem with the amount of light the plants will be getting. make sure you grow enough for a whole year during the season.
Is a closet grow just out of the question or something? Even a simple indoor grow would be easier then growing outside in below freezing with little sunlight.
for all the money and effort you're going to waste trying to do this, just take a couple extra shifts at work and buy a bag of weed.
The short days of winter will fuck the plants up. Even if you live in Florida photo period plants do not grow properly in winter.
Get a Greenhouse! I grow all year. I bought a grow tent/greenhouse from Weatherport. Granted, I do live in Washington State, but still I highly recommend.
Your going to need lights for veg. A good greenhouse can be 80 degrees f when cold and snowy outside. You are looking at a very expensive way of doing it. There isn't much natural light over the winter so why not just move it inside? If it's a personal security issue, get a divorce.
