Naturists In The Uk....

...more specifically in the West of England.
There is a beach not far from Bristol that used to be a naturist haven, popular with couples, families & singles of both gender, I'm talking about Berrow beach just south of Weston super Mare. Back in the mid-80s the authorities tried to get this beach designated officially nude, but the outcry from the local golfers soon got picked up by the national media & all of a sudden every creep, weirdo & voyeur crawled out of the woodwork & headed for the beach! Since then it has gone out of favour with naturists so much so that a couple of recent visits have seen Phil & I the only people on the beach! (bar a few horseriders & dog walkers).
Are there any naturists within sensible distances of this beach willing to give it a try? Maybe we can get it back to it's former glory....we shall be there most weekends (weather permitting) after the bank holiday.

 

Bugger...just noticed I mis-spelled the title!! That should be "Naturists in the UK..."

 

Everyone was clothed when I went to Berrow about 20 years ago.

 

That's the early to mid 90s then....probably was all textile then! We lived in London but holidayed in the West Country in the 80s when we couldn't afford to go to France. We stopped going to Berrow in 86 or 87, spending our nude time on Eastney or Studland. But since we have moved to the West Country we have checked Berrow out a few times, like I said, sometimes we have been virtually the only souls on the beach, we spotted one other couple nude in the dunes near the church once, but that's all.

 

I find most uk naturist beaches to be full of voyeurs, I prefer countryside walks or to go nude on quiet beaches where nudity is unexpected. I'm in Vera playa Spain at the moment, probably the best nudist resort on the planet.

 

Too bloody cold in UK at moment for naturists

 

People go indoors....at organised events and swims like the BN Alton Towers naturist event just over a week ago

 

I am nude always at home and yer theres not a lot to do in winter but it makes summer worth looking forward to .

 

Have not been but found this in my nude beach guide:
"Burnham and Berrow have decided they want no nude bathers polluting their beaches..."
"A police activity in Berrow has resulted from the public complaints of disgusting naked cavorting."
"However, Brean could encourage visitors...the place to aim for is midway between Brean beach car park and the spit north of Berrow."

I have no idea is this is any good but hope you find the info useful. If not, see you on Studland along with everyone else!

I need help! Really want to try being naturist for a while see how I like it. Always nude at home but don't know where to start

Not sure if you are able to travel, but when I lived in London (South East), I would go the the nudist beach at Leysdown in Kent and further away, but much nicer in my opinion, Studland.

If you don't drive the Brighton would be a good option as the train would make it quick and easy (ignoring the current train problems!).
