Well like 70-80% of Dominicans are multiracial.

The main combo is Spanish, African and Tainos (which were the long extinct native people from the island), the result is a Dominican. But Im talking about a mix that has been taking place for hundreds of years. I mean there's other things in my family, like I know there's some Italian from my grandmother's family, but I've never kept track of these things. I know for sure that from my grandfather's family they were Spanish.

Most countries in latinamerica are a mix of whatever European country colonized them, Africans and whatever native group was in that country, is just some places mixed more than others. For example Haiti. Haiti is like 90% black and there's like a 10% who are either white or mulatto. The percentanges change a lot depending on the country. Some places you can notice a stronger native presence, like in Peru, Bolivia, Mexico. Then Argentina, Chile, even Puerto Rico and Cuba most of the people are white. I really think that Dominicans are one of the most mixed people from all latinamerica.

Interesting story. When did they come across the water?

And how did you become a buddhist? Or is it a nudist?

    neither of the above.

I dunno much about my great grandparents, great grandma kept bacon fat in jars, buried in the backyard, and great grandpa made liquor during prohibition.

there are some other family stories, but usually I avoid that side of the family, simply because they're all crazy.

I think it's a little bit of eveywhere.

My great grandma was a bootlegger who liked to get drunk and spoke little english so I guess it was amusing when she cussed.

I wish I could have met the lady. :D

My dad used to steal Harleys and sell them down south, as well as deal drugs.... he was a total pimp. Some stories the ol' man has are something else, I enjoy them.

My Mom was just a drugie, not a whole lot of exciting storied from her though... oh, she voted for McCain because she believes Obama is a "sleeper cell", wich she whispered to me like he was in the bathroom or something. heh
