A scumbag 'nasty party' back-bench MP has opened his gob and let the cat out of the bag over what they plan for the NHS !!! Letwin: 'NHS will not exist under Tories' By Andy McSmith Sunday 06 June 2004 10:05 7 comments Oliver Letwin has reportedly told a private meeting that the "NHS will not exist" within five years of a Conservative election victory. Oliver Letwin has reportedly told a private meeting that the "NHS will not exist" within five years of a Conservative election victory. The Shadow Chancellor said that the health service would instead be a "funding stream handing out money to pay people where they want to go for their healthcare", according to a member of the audience. The remarks, which have been furiously denied by Mr Letwin, were last night seized on by Labour as evidence of the Tories' true intentions towards the NHS. It is not disputed that Mr Letwin met a gathering of construction industry representatives in his constituency of Dorset West on 14 May. During the meeting he urged the group of around six local businessmen to work together to win contracts for a new PFI hospital to be built in Dorchester. Mr Letwin then astonished his audience, however, by saying that within five years of a Conservative election victory "the NHS will not exist anymore", according to one of those who were present. Although Mr Letwin's aides later insisted that his remarks had been misinterpreted, it is the second time in recent weeks that his candour has landed him in trouble.
Yes, but after their latest plans for the NHS which came to light last Monday, I'm not surprised, this has been on the table as a scumbag 'nasty party' objective for the past fifty years !!!
8th February 2021 The Tories' massive NHS U-turn won't undo the damage they inflicted | Polly Toynbee
A moment of honesty is required - New Labour began the dismantling of our NHS Unfortunately, the last Labour Government laid the groundwork for everything that the Tory-led coalition is now doing to the NHS. Market structures, foundation trusts, GP consortia and the introduction of private corporations into commissioning were all products of an ill-conceived Labour vision of “public service reforms”.
SURELY, If the Covid experience has proved anything it is that the NHS requires proper funding? But there again - if it is up to the Tories then Money is the root of all excuses (if they cannot profit from it)
Bullshit !!! - the dismantling of the NHS began during that evil witch (Margaret Thatcher - phth, phth, phth) premiership !!!
Old news as said earlier. The NHS requires a lot more funding and also requires reorganisation. I would probably think parts of the NHS will not exist as we know it in years to come whatever political party is running the country. If this means the NHS is in a better position to look after the needs of the general population this is a good thing.
Probviding there is still an NHS to look after us all. If this scumbag 'nasty party' had their way they'd privatise it and flog it off to their cronies or the Americans !!!
