personally i loved it! i thought the effects were awesome, and the witch was scary-looking... in a skinny bitchy cold-hearted dreaded model sort of way... the characters could have been elaborated on a little bit more.. but in all i thought it stuck to the book really well (from what i can remember anyway) and was realllllly good. are they planning on doing the other books? because i hope so...
i thought it was alright...i never grew up reading the books, and i only remember very vaugely of a movie they made of it years ago, so i dont think i could really appriciate it as much as other people...it was really entertaining though
I saw it. The effects were pretty awesome till the coronation ceremony. For some reason the crowd looked way unauthentic to me. Also, the kids were too cutesy and cookiecutter. I thought Cate Blanchett looked amazing all frosty and regal. But she could have been scarier for sure. All in all, twas a nice way to spend the afternoon.
Tilda Swinton played the witch i've never heard of her... but she does kiiiiiinda look like cate blanchett
I'm really hanging out to see & these reviews have me pretty amped for Australia's boxing day opening. The previews look intense! So I haven't even seen it yet but...anyone know or hear whether this is to be ongoing? It's obvious that the Mag's Nephew had nothing to offer the big screen as it really is more of a prologue than anything. But other stories like Dawn Treader, Silver Chair, etc. have great depth, especially Last Stand with Shift and the ape...that would be ridiculously engaging.
woot, I finally saw it tonight! Sooooo good. hell, I liked the fight scenes better than LOTR (except the very end of Narnia's fight scene, kind of lame with the swooshing people, but the rest was super duper good) I'm gonna have to buy this one when it's on dvd
DODGEBALL! it is just wrong Listen to the BBC tapes i have heard them a zillion times and i fal lin love with them.
Tigerlily: they do plan to film the other books. Right now they are fiming the... crap, can't remember the title as all my books are packed in boxes right now... but they are filming the only other story that features Susan and the gang as kids. The others will follow, I believe.
that was one of the best movies I have ever seen. I think its amazing how lewis can tie in so many references from the bible without being cheesey and going overboard...and this movie just made it even more intense for me. I am so going to see that again.
I loved it (even if they did let the unicorn get killed, MEH). Never read the books though, probably should....
Peter shouldn't have been riding the unicorn anyways. Same with edmund and the tlaking horse... I am a nerd
I think they would be doing Prince Caspian next when everyone returns a year later. A Horse and His Boy to me seems like it would be made after Silver Chair because it is mentioned as being told to Eustuce and Jill when they are at Cair Paravel (and then Lewis says he will write it out sometime if he gets around to it)...
