What are your feelings about this movie? Do you think it's a classic, a heaping pile of dog crap, or somewhere in between? Personally, I have watched the movie several times and I find it kind of kitschy and somewhat entertaining. It's not the greatest movie ever or anything like that, but I think it's a pretty likeable and funny movie The characters of Napoleon, Kip and Uncle Rico are pretty ingenious and well played, IMO. I also like the setting of the movie and the fact that he characters look like they're from the late 70s or early 80s, yet the movie was set in the then present day (2004) with things like the internet referenced. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZJrGuC92U8
No, but I do like your assessment. I think it's important for a movie to have cultural reference points (I don't know what this is called in the movie business!) such as cellular phones (90s-00s) or beepers (90s) and the Internet which for some reason didn't really get alot of mention in movies when it was first popularized in my opinion. I like when movies do little things like that to remind us we aren't in the dark ages, however subtle.
I'm right there with you, Rat. This movie feels like home. I love the John Swihart score. I dance like Napoleon.
Somewhere in between, I appreciated a lot of aspects of the movie but at the same time it didn't seem very organic to me, it had kind of a cartoonish quality about it. Kind of reminded me of like a Wes Anderson film aimed at youth. The only other comedies that I recall enjoying around that time were Old School and Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle. The vast majority of comedies around then were generic teen flicks, which I didn't care much for, so I acknowledge the appeal of this film.
i liked it at the time. i haven't seen it in years though, so i'm really not sure how well it would hold up now. i feel like it would still be good.
Maybe in short 5 minute increments but to sit through an entire film - I'd rather pass a kidney stone Hotwater
i sort of remember there having been something on tv by that name. i don't remember the details. some sort of p.i./spy vs spy sitcom sort of thing, possibly inspired to compete for ratings against 'get smart'. i may have some part of that mixed up. sorry if i do. i don't think i was ever big on media crap to begin with. so they've made an even dumber movie about an old dumb tv show? like this is news?
Perhaps you should ascertain what the fuck you're actually talking about before you waste your time replying to a thread.
I just realized I think he was talking about mission impossible because at the beginning there was a stick of dynamite lit. I wouldn't say it's anything like get Smart but one time my grandmother said they are the same thing.
You're over reacting a bit, aren't you? He said You don't need to bite his head off. Something a little milder like "sorry, you have no clue", or just ignoring the post would have been classier.
