Why do you say that? A Pakistani woman once informed me it was a Pakistani name, but in Pakistan it would actually be Ibraham.
Oh, because of Abe Lincoln? Nah I think most people are past that lol. Most people just associate it with the bible
Abraham is a lovely name! I too like the classic names. Noah is gorgeous. I like William too. And Blake. William Blake. Dunno about girls names, though! I've been trying to think and I draw blank. I don't want kids though. If I did eventually change my mind and have them (as everyyybody keeps saying I will, because everyyybody knows me so much better than I know myself ) I'm sure I would adopt, and so child/ren would supposedly already be named.
I would name my first born either Murphy William or Murphy Kathryn depending on gender. If I had a 2nd child and it was a girl her name would be Matilda Maye. I don't think my name really fits me at all but I don't know what name would.
True, and if you have a fucked up last name you don't want to compound the humiliation like the parents of these current and former athletes did Ron Tugnutt Dick Trickle Harry Colon De’Cody Fagg Lucious Pusey Assol Slivets Karen Cockburn Irina Slutskaya Hotwater
i guess that works. give them a last name for a first name, and it can't really have a gender assigned to it.
That is my maiden name, as you have probably guessed. A lot of people called me Murphy growing up. I liked it. My dad had no sons to carry it on. At this point I'd be surprised if I had kids but if I do that's what it will be.
Trying to think of a robocop quote about Murphy. ...just not happening. Murphy. Robocop. Heh. Y'all know what I'm trying to do here.
i would certainly avoid any name that sounded like it could mean anything. that's the basic and most important part, and it is for that reason i would tray to avoid all of the common names, because pretty much all of the actually do.
I dont know how you can say people look like their name when they are usually named before being seen. i guess you wont see a norwegian with the name juan ot jose just like you wont see a china man with the name anthony. i have a common name and a common face so i guess my name fits me. If i had a boy i would name him raston. I know there is the potential for being made fun of rats on....but kids can make fun of any name. And i would just call him raz for short. Middle name would be something with an A making his initials RAS. If i had a girl the mother could name her anything within reason. (Anything would be a funny name)
My son is 30 and he was born before everybody got a sonogram that would show the baby's sex...but I knew it. Even though I picked out a girl's name (Jessica Marie), I knew he would be named after his father, and would be blank blank blank III. I always thought it suited him quite well, and he likes his name. When he was in 6th or 7th grade he had to do an assignment where they were to find out the meaning of their names and write an essay about it. Come to find out, his whole name means something like "being strong and a bright light", and of course he was super impressed with that. :2thumbsup: lol ANYWAY...I never thought one way or the other about my name except that by the time I was 40 it seemed like EVERYBODY's 1st or middle name was Lynn, with boys even being name Lyn. godalmighty But I've always felt like the original Lynn, and my friends (few though they may be lol) feel the same way.
