I know it's been a few months since you posted this but I'm going to respond anyway. Naked Lunch is incredibly confusing. It's written from the perspective of an addict and it definitely shows. But I'm not sure if it is from this perspective the entire time, you will understand when you read when I say this. It's a disjointed narrative and it made me go back several times to re-read sentences or entire pages because it was all a jumble. It's very difficult to "truly" understand what's going on but honestly I think it's not even meant to be understood from a sane point of view. You should give it a try and see if you like it I found it to be very provocative at times. It can get under your skin if you allow it to. Just let yourself go and don't try to make much sense of things if you get stuck along the way. I think you will be able to appreciate it if you do this.
It is a work of genius by a writer who was one of the few true originals of the second half of the 20th century. Disturbing, hilarious, insightful, satirical and magical. Try Burroughs later works too.
