I don't get all the hate for myspace the trendiness is annoying, but like anything - just don't join in with that stuff it's what you make it make it good and it will be good
I was reading this article about some japanese networking site competing against myspace. It was talking about how it was the same, but nobody was as forthcomming as on myspace, and everyone was too polite. The internet but blander. What an endorsment. Myspace does suck though.
a while ago I cleaned out the people who I never talk to, yeah... and if I don't recognize the profile picture or the name they don't get approved for being on the friends list. If you want me to add you then throw a message along with the request saying who you are instead of some randomf cuker.
I thought some dude named Tom owned it. the dude who is on everyones list (when you first sign up). or did he sell it? PS facebook is better.
I never really got into myspace.... My neice did a whole myspace page thing for a while, but then she was complaining about her site being flooded by unwanted people or whatnot, I'm not sure.... but she abandonded it. I don't think I can make that sort of commitment to a blog or anything, really.
i know a lot of people, musicans included, are getting good use out of it, but it's just one more of those things in our world i wouldn't trust too far, especialy if they get it to where too many people get to be dependent on it. it's a way to try and curtail the free flow of real on the ground information trumping media and getting into the bloggisphere and thus to the rest of us the corporatocracy would prefer to keep in the dark with so called relivance. nothing that anyone charges anything for has a damd bit of relivance to why i pay an isp or long on to the net. =^^= .../\...
Donald Trump has a myspace. Ram Dass, Eminem, David wolfe, all have myspaces. Eveyrone has a myspace. It is an awesome networking tool. I see no reason to not trust it or to knock it. It's a free service that is really a service. You can build a free website and connect with anyone in the world cuz everyone knows about it. Where is the harm? People who don't like myspace are probably just scared of making a website about themselves...or mad cuz they have no product, service, or band to promote, and their probably going nowhere fast.
I don't mind it, its great for bands and booking shows, and I have been able to track down some old friends through it. i actually like it, I don't give a fuck about who owns it and their politics, as i don't use it for anything than what I use it for.
