You know I really don't think corporal punishment, for children or adults, is ever justified. But a severe threat, that sometimes does a lot of good. Let me explain. There was this poor girl in my grade school, A. And the kids tormented her mercilessly. And you know, I never saw one kid even punished once for what they did. But if they knew they'd face a month's detention, for even saying one unkind word to her, they'd stop immediately. Like Norm McDonald once pointed out, kids are overly sensitive. To people who are different too. But they need to be taught. Okay, you can't control what's going on in your mind. But you'll get a month's detention for any bullying, any at all. Because that would stop all the bullying right there. It might seem too severe. But like my analogy about Riot Act. Even if the penalty is severe, once you've been warned. If you still do it and you get punished. At that point you have no one to blame but yourself.
Bullies apply their mortality to everyone else, but seldom themselves, and are usually bullied by their first best friend in school. These days, all you have to do is record them on your cellphone, shooting their mouth off, and they'll get the message. They don't comprehend morality, but having their own crap thrown back in their faces they comprehend.
