If you're Orthodox and get inked you can't be buried in a Jewish cemetery. If you're not a Jew no one gives a crap. I mean, if you had "Peace" written on your arm in Farsi or Hangul, do you think it would piss off Persians or Koreans?

    Gimme a break.

That is what I told my mother, but I wasn't completely sure so I wanted some input from people who were more 'in the know'.

Jews not able to be tattooed, it’s an urban legend, most likely started because a specific cemetery had a policy against tattoos. Jewish parents and grandparents picked up on it and over time, their distaste for tattoos was presented as scriptural doctrine.

Jewish law on tattooing is slippery. Leviticus 19:28 states, “You shall not make gashes in your flesh for the dead nor incise any marks on yourself: I am the Lord.”

Jewish law prohibits many things that secular Jews do without a second thought. The Torah prohibits anything negative that affects the body. Smoking is more of a violation of Jewish law. As are drinking alcohol in excess and overeating.
