My second toe on my left foot is just barely bigger than my big toe. On my right foot, it is smaller. It does suck wearing shoes sometimes. Especially when I ride my bike with toe clips. I like to ride my cruiser barefoot and found some pedals, although I cant remember where, that are called barefoot pedals. How awesome is that?

(Sorry, bit of a threadjack, but someone said Bike...)

I tend to ride VERY agressively, i.e., 30+mph downhill over broken, rubble-strewn trails, catching air over every ditch and berm and cranking full-force on the uphill. Due to this, I have to use clipless (SPD) pedals, or else I lose 50% of my power and control (hard to pull the tail up hard unless you're firmly attached, and pedaling both up and down gives you dramatically more power).

    My compromise is these:

I don't consider them shoes as much as fancy pedals that you strap yourself into. As soon as I come to a stop, they come right off and you're not totally confined to some kind of shoe coffin while riding.

As far as casual riding is concerned, there are lots of pedals that are very barefoot friendly and many are very inexpensive. These pedals from Amazon are a great example.

I do miss the comfort of a platform while riding short runs to the store barefoot and might give these a try when I'm feeling wealthy...

As far as longer second toes go, mine are the same length. I believe that it used to be a bit shorter but it seems that they've evened out over the years without shoes.
