My roommate DOES NOT stop talking

What is the best way to deal with compulsive talkers?

My brother does this a lot. Luckily I've known him long enough to just be able to tell him to shut his face. I dont know how confident you are to do the same.

But he's a case onto himself.

Anyway, now at least he's chatting with HIS GIRLFRIEND on the phone.

You know what the only bad thing about him talking to his girlfriend is?

Afterwards he has to bitch FOR HOURS to me about her situation, how her parents are crazy, etc etc etc et al ad infinitum so god bless amen.

 

is that the only reason you're kicking him out??? Man, I'm a Gemini and I'm talkative too... I would hope I wouldn't get kicked out for being too social for the cool crowd...

Let your roommate talk alone. Don't listen.

 

One housemate of mine got to the point of me not wanting to leave my room, or be in the house and going hours without eating or drinking just so that I wouldn't have to hear his voice. I told him that I had bad depression (a lie) and didn't have the energy to listen so could he please give me some peace. It worked really well, he only talked when necessary and did all kinds of nice things to make me feel better.

 

you could always be honest and tell him you dont want to talk right now

 

Interrupt every sentence with 'homo says what?'

 

Get them to talk to me, I like listening
