no it doesn't, blacks aren;t slaves anymore in this country. but in africa on the other hand it still goes on. they have college education funds based almost solely on the fact they are poor and black. they have a national history monmth, they have numerous lobbyist and special interest groups working in their favor. plus there's also a black president now, they almost zero things to legitimately complain about anymore.

Please stop the personal attacks. If they persist this thread will be closed... which is unfortunate because this is a topic that very much needs to be addressed. As long as there are race based attitudes there will be a need for dialog. An attitude need not carry the weight necessary to be an offense- it gets that dignity by the way people choose to react.

All sides of this should bear in mind that while a persons position is fair game for debate the person him/herself is not fair game for personal attacks. If what someone says makes them look foolish then pointing it out is unnecessarily inflammatory.

The way I look at it is its kinda fun to match up stereotypes to the people willing to portray them. Saw a Korean dude reading a book while driving, I laughed. When someone is talking in theater, I sit next to them, pretend I know them and start asking them personal questions and then randomly throw in there "he said it shouldn't still be contagious but I'm not sure." What the hell? What did the discovery channel ever do to anyone besides shark week, and that is a national treasure! Irrie though because I have a seven pronged attack against the police of America.... Too many people would have to die and would though. So yeah, scrap that plan. I came up with it after getting tired of meaningless protesting and Bush's re-election. If my memory serves, a few of us were talking over drinks about what it would actually take to make a change in the system. After a few more consumed and ideas debunked, I began spitballing this plan that kinda borrows parts of the idea from The Warriors (Thanks to whoever stole my dvd, btw universe.) I won't extrapolate further cause its really fucked up and there are some sick people in this world. It was the kinda thing that after devising I felt my own mind recoil in horror.
I've always been a cynic. Its the environment I grew up in. But its not like I don't have a point. My argument to the religious is that allegedly God is benevolent and we were made in his image. Yet human beings are without a doubt the most evil beings to walk this earth.
We kill each other over imaginary borders

We kill each other for sneakers, rep, mental disorders, revenge, anger, "love," and hell we even kill each other for fun.

I tell the religious that I see the astronomical chance in our existence and I don't see it as chance. But I don't see us as the work of a benevolent being either, and if God really is real, I'd like to have a few choice words and maybe a round of Rochambeau with the prick.
I joined this forum some years back and even then I would talk about the decline that society is voluntarily taking. Its still happening to this day. We get worse as a people every single day and it is getting harder and harder to try to maintain an attitude of having the ability to affect positive change of any kind on anyone.

I'm not sure if your aware or not but the Dutch traded guns for slaves. Capture five enemies bring them to us and you get a gun. They did it for both sides. Turned the whole place into a never ending arms race. Then the whites came and exploited the natural resources. Gold, rubber, diamonds. A lot of people are just like the rest of us and just trying to get by. Then you got the guys who try to personify the stereotypes that popular culture encourages. Its not even their fault really. Its social conditioning.

And by the way, I'm sure you have your reasons for whatever you think but a lot of the shit I hear from these people is that black people are ignorant. Then they bring up the scholarships for black people thing. To me thats contradictory. If you think someone is ignorant, why wouldn't you want them to go to college?
