no one forces the americans to buy oil from the axis of evil or for that matter from people like chavez, if you don't like these people don't buy their oil (i suppose you can invade their country and take it though)

if iranian religious conviction was so strong wouldn't they have stopped all oil exports to countries in cahoots with america as well?

if america was so against iran why didn't they have a problem shipping weapons to them ( care of oliver north? )

its obvious that any war against iran will be one based on monetary expediency rather than religious observances. you'll find that when it comes down to it both sides don't give a fuck about jehova or allah they just want the money.

Iran must sell oil, the proceeds of sales go to buy internal support for the regime, to pay the cronies and buy off the opposition. Religous convictions take a back seat to self preservation.

We cannot boycott Iranian Oil. If we refuse to buy it, and instead buy all of our oil from say Venezuela, then those customers who previously bought
from Venezula and now find that thier monthly allotments now being sold to The US will then buy oil on the open market. Iran now having spare inventory
will then find that same customer.

We don't need any war with Iran. The Iranian People are our friends.

They have the same aspirations as us.

The American media has been ignoring statements that Iran and their allies have been making against the west. Perhaps they don't want to alarm the public. Yet, in the Yaakov Lappin YNet News they have reported that Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadiejad said Israel and the United States will soon be destroyed.

Iran and their allies donot have an army that could destroy America or Israel. Yet, their work on Nuclear energy could radically change the playing field. I believe before Bush leaves office we might see an American military strike against Iran, which might slow down their Nuke program, yet, it will not stop them from getting the bomb.

 

Well i would have to actually hear him say these things and not the freakish nature of our press - making him say something he may not be saying. I do not think a military strike will occur. Certainly not because of this issue. If it does occur it imho will not resemble the kind of biblical references you infer.

The thing is, he isn't explicitly calling for the destruction of America or Israel. But he's obviously playing word games. Sure, he can say the "zionist regime" doesn't mean the country, but Iranian government officials avoid saying the word "Israel" since that is seen an acknowledging the existance of the country and somehow legtitimising it. But America isn'ta regime, its a country. How can we see a world without America? And isn't he giving one speech for internal consumption and one for international media? Everybody does that, if they think nobody is listening.

The point is, for Israel, if a country denies your right to exist, denies the holocaust, threatens to wipe you off the map (regime or not), sponsors terrorism against you, and attempts to build a nuclear bomb, should you really give them the benefit of the doubt?
