well those are some pretty fair responses, wonk, even though i still think it would be more practical, economical, and responsible to drive a different vehicle and biodeisel is not at all free fuel, and quite different from vegetable oil. vegetable oil will run, at best, an oil lamp. fuels made from vegetable oils are a different story. how do you intend to get them for free? at least in ohio, its rare to even see biodiesel offered at any stations. and don't you need a special engine to run on both diesel and biodiesel, anyway? regardless, good luck with the roaming
no any diesel engine can run stright veggie oil. but i am putting a mod kit on it that will alow me to start the bus with real diesel and swith it to my veggie oil reserve.
that thing is fucking kick ass. i would love something like that you're gonna have great times in that thing!
Thats Awsome man. The interior really isnt even that bad looking, I would just put get a nice brightly colored carpet on the floor and walls just to give it a nice atmosphere.
yeah it was a good find. the guy really needs the money because he has to take care of his dad who just had a stroke. he hooked me up. i mean it is seriously worth alot more than i paid, so even if its not for me, once i fix up the interior i can sell it for double what i paid. ill be picking folks up for next years rainbow gathering, but ill let yall know about that next spring.
straight vegetable oil....i dunno....you'd need to send me some sources of information about THAT....biodeisel is one thing, but vegetable oil....thats just for deep frying....
yep thats the best part, companies use it for deep frying, and after a while it becomes gross so they drain it into 55 gallon barrels. they have to pay to get these "waste veggie oil" barrels taken away. then us greasers come in and say "hey, ill take that barrel off of your hands for free". so they give it to us, and we pump it into our reserve tanks. the tanks not only hold the oil, but they also filter and heat the oil to make it ready for the engine. EDIT: oh, and here is some info on it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waste_vegetable_oil
increasingly they are being paid for it by companies making bio fuels.. your going to find it harder than you think to find people willing to give it away. btw, how much did you pay for the bus??
also, you do know your bus has to be converted to run on veggie oil, and it will still take diesel for start ups, and if your fuel lines aren't heated you wont be able to use it in cold climates..
