Alright, so my neighbor's cat is a terrorist. He camps in my yard and viciously attacks our small cat every opportunity he gets. Now, I'm not a cruel person, but the only solutions to this problem I can think of involve something harsh and unkind. I just want the turd to leave our cat alone, better yet, to keep out of our yard all together. I've chased him from the yard many times, but he keeps on returning. I need to resolve this problem before it costs me a fortune in vet bills. Any ideas
Squrit the other cat with water. Or put cat repellent scent/ultra sonic things along your fence. (You can buy both). Is the cat un-neutered? They tend to be obsessed with territory. But will avoid your cat if you try something like the above. And if you use an airgun or sthg, there's a fair chance you'll end up attacked with a machete. If he get soaking wet a couple of times, he's very unlikely to return.
Airsoft won't leave any permanent damage.... they're meant for shooting people, it's a game like paintball. It just hurts like a motherfucker.
Maybe don't let your cat outside? Some people moved in next door a few years back. They came from a farm and brought a bunch of cats with them which lived outside. We got along with them just fine but I kindly warned them multiple times that my dog would surely attack their cats if they came in our yard. They didn't seem very concerned about it. One day there was an awful screech in the back yard. One of their cats was in our yard and the dog got it. Luckily, we were able to save it before he killed it but we haven't seen one of their cats in our yard since then. And the lady somehow got pissed and acted like we owed her an apology or maybe should have covered her vet bill. We didn't offer to pay anything. Keep your cat out of our yard and that shit won't happen.
Is your cat black? I'm not racist, but if he, she, or it is black you can go the Pepe Le Pew route. Just find some non toxic white paint and paint a line down his, her, or its back. This is guaranteed to work. No cat will come anywhere near he, she, or it. You may develop a skunk problem though.
Those are some interesting ideas. The cat knows I don't like him, and if we cross paths in my yard, he generally runs for cover. He does have a favorite spot across from my back door, so I've considered electrifying that area with an on/off switch by the door. The problem is, I don't want to kill the sucker. I do like the idea regarding the power soaker.
We had a very persistent male feline intruder who would fight and injure our neutured males. I believe he caused the death of at least one of ours. My suggestion is to call animal control and have them set out a no-kill trap for the cat.
