might not be too bad, kinda like catharides or other things that cause the blood to flow more heavily to the region. just depends on where and how much you get. anyhoo, i love spicy food.
nothing is as good as fried chicken fucking DROWNING in this shit: definitely not the hottest hot sauce out there, but imo it's just right i can use as much as i want and it will get spicier but not to the point of being inedible, but it's so flavorful, savory, with a nice almost numbing heat to it.....wonderful, wonderful stuff. makes tobasco sauce cry in shame. combines two of my favorite things: peppers and garlic fried chicken with a ton of that stuff slopped on there, a salad on the side, and a 6 pack of PBR makes for the greatest meal i can think of for under 10 bucks
I can't much chilli at all because it gives me reflux. My life is just that little more drab and grey as a result. I should end it all now.
Doesn't solve it. The colour and other ingredients they use in the tablets cause almost as bad reflux as it cures. I don't waste my money on it.
its the only thing that works for me. I even tried prescription shit. i don't do the 14-day treatment bullshit tho, I take a couple of em when I feel it coming on, end of story. It says not to do this, but my doctor is the one who told me to, so fuck it. whats the worst that could happen. interesting fact. The ingredients contained in hot peppers actually REDUCE reflux......
one of my professors made an off hand comment the other day about a spice used in sichuan cooking (in english often called sichuan pepper, though it is related neither to pepper or chilis) which is only slightly hot, and has a citrussy flavor, but which numbs the mouth and alters the flavors of other seasonings....food that is over-the-top spicy can be made absolutely delicious once this spice does the trick for you i need to find some, i'm intensely curious ever since i heard of it
i think i'm starting to see more than just reflux. it would probably be wise for me to cut back on the drinking for a bit, but when you're bored, you know.
I have some, although it is a supermarket brand that is supplemented with normal chillis and black pepper. I imagine you could get the pure stuff from an asian grocer. Its delicious, especially on chicken.
The main problem for me is that I have major intolerances to most artificial colours/flavours/etc...and I'm guessing those tablets are citrus or mint flavour, in which case I would be intolerant to that too. As far as I know, there is not an antacid in existence that doesn't contain something that causes reflux for me, except prescription ones but they do shit. Also, I am probably intolerant to the chemicals in chilli as well. In fact, strangely enough, dairy fat works wonders. Cream, milk, yoghurt...probably just makes everything more alkaline.
oh yeah, i know it's available in town, but according to him "the chinese folks in bloomington say it's not as good as the stuff mom uses back home, but in my opinion it does the trick" he's my into to taoism professor, speaks at least one chinese language and has travelled somewhat extensively in china apparently, so idk. i trust him. i'm gonna have to look for it, though.
