Yes, exactly what I spoke, during my way to came up my startup project, I used to think about simply everything. Today, while I was between myself thoughts, I realised my forecast. It isn't too far away seeing a new gold time for us. Actually on worldwide there is a legalisation of the medical use of marijuana and furthermore, a lot of car manufacturers are will to developing E-car. As other points in favor of my theory there are everyday increasingly: animal lovers, vegetarians (and vegans), etc.. What do you think about? Is it possible?
mine wouldn't need one. people who didn't hate logic and consideration would build a world, just by how they'd live in it, in which everyone was free to create and explore. without indenture, militancy, or armed conflict.
Is that really the hippie ethos? Marijuana and vegetarianism? E-Cars? Nothing about peace, love and pragmatism? No wonder the movement died out after a few years: It was a trend.
History never repeats itself exactly, and the hippy era won't recur as it used to be. But some stuff hippies were into - environmentalism, consciousness expansion, creating peace rather than conflict, alternative social models etc. are all ideas which probably will figure in the future.
i seem to recall, there was something about civil rights and world peace. something about ending a war in some little country in south east asia. and then people started realize, oh wait, environment, kind of hard to exist without one. the whole drug thing, well i wasn't living in cities at the time, but my impression is that it didn't start out being central. applying logic to culture did though.
The drug thing started out as tool for raising consciousness. That's why it's called getting high, as in a higher consciousness. LSD was the primary mover, as in The Brotherhood of Eternal Love. ?
Oh, so you are one of those ones that think Electric cars are more ecofriendly? The Nissan Leaf, so far the worlds best selling electric car, which is just a tiny hatchback, has a 218 kg battery that is basically 192 lithium ion cells strung together Imagine what would happen if we ended up with even 20% of the worlds cars electric? We can do better than internal combustion engines, but lithium ion batteries are NOT the friggin answer
