First I take some water and heavy whipping cream because I do keto. I heat this in the microwave unless I want to actually spend the time using the "three overboil" method, which is fine for taste, but I don't think it adds any special alchemy to tha mix. To this I add-- 1 teaspoon turmeric, 1 teaspoon ginger, 1/2 teaspoon cardimom, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, 1/4 teaspoon allspice or clove, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/8th teaspoon ethyl vanillin crystals. A gentle squeeze from a bottle of stevia/erythritol sweetener. I have zapped the "milk" in a mason jar so I can put the lid on this and shake the living hell out of it. Once this has been thoroughly mixed I add a few drops of nutmeg essential oil in this. I drink this and smoke a little ganja and I am sent away to a blissful peaceful place where I promptly go to sleep. Not exactly psychedelic, but a tremendously soothing beverage. Nutmeg essential oil is very nice. The common knowledge about nutmeg is that it has myristicin in it which can act in a similar manner to mescaline or MDMA. But it is not a very pleasant trip feels like a flu and has a nasty three day hangover. Well, that knowledge is a little misleading. In the nutmeg seed itself most of the myristicin is actually polymerized into a compound called tri-myristicin. It isn't myristicin that causes the unpleasant side effects and the multi-day hangover, it's the tri-myristicin. Well, guess what? the distillation process of making essential oil leaves behind all the heavy polymers and renders you with an oil containing NO tri-myristicin, but instead yielding a myristicin rich oil. I filled two gelcaps with this oil once and got a wierd spacey head buzz that was especially nice when smoken sweet em ganj! If you look up "oilhuasca" there is a claim that ingesting chamomile tea in large amounts or chamomile essential oil (in case you didn't know, I CONSUME ESSENTIAL OILS BY MOUTH. this is safe if you make sure it isn't one of the handful of essential oils that are toxic by mouth, and that is not cut with a toxic carrier oil) supresses an enzyme that otherwise breaks down myristicin, thus rendering this combo a full blown psychedelic. I did not find a significant difference when drinking a very strong chamomile brew.
Very interesting read. Two of my good friends are well known herbalists with publications. I must ask them about this! Sounds very cool, but the nutmeg I can probably do without as I appreciate the cannabis so much already.
