Why only kinda? The beauty of a beach is that you don't have to get naked if you don't want to. If you get there and decide you don't want to do it, no one will mind if you're wearing a bikini, or bikini bottoms, or whatever. At least it's like that in the UK. That said, I suspect that if you go with the intention of trying nudity, and then don't, you'll later wish you had. My advice would be go, don't stop to think too long, just take it all off as soon as you arrive. You'll be surrounded by other people in the same state, and most people find a refreshing feeling of "no big deal", but if not, you can just put some clothes back on.
