My First Grow.... (Item 9)

Well, here i am! It has been 10 days and i have a small springy little plant I have come to know and love as Marley. Everything is quite really on the home front. I just sang marley a goodnight song. Here are some pictures for you guys!!!

Day 11 8:41pm September 20th
Ok so update and question.. I just transplanted my plant from a cup with regular backyard dirt to a cup with miracle grow potting soil.. It's indoor mix and says added flowering hormone.. I think that this will do my plant good.. So now for my question... Is my plant to small for 11 days?? It's 1 1/4 inch tall.. With 2 round leaves.. When should I expect more leaves and how big should I expect it around 2 weeks

 

Sorry duplicate posts!!! Btw I also moved my plant closer to the light because the leaves where turned up as though reaching for more light... Will let you know more asap

 

start a new seed............you should have the first set of leaves even the second ones starting by now.......probably nothing you did........seeds are just shit sometimes.........also don't use that miracle grow......don't use anything with time release ferts in it......

 

Ok new seed is started.. But now that I reason a bit it has only been in the soil 7 days.. I'll give it about 5 more days or something... I don't wanna give up on it just yet.. It'll be another 4 days till my next seed germinates anyway... Anyway I just checked on it and it seems to have grown a bit and it's very green and the leaves are not "reaching" anymore.. I will keep everyone posted!!!

 

Get ya self some loam based soil. Bake or microwave it till its red hot and then allow it to steam in a bag till cold. Then mix 4 parts soil to one part perlite and use.

 

just wondering... What should I expect on leaf growth like 5 days 2 set ? Or what

 

The first set of rounded leafs the single bladded pair then next set or if not a good starting on them.

 

ok well. I just through out Marley, I ceramoniously burned her and asked shiva to take her to plant heaven haha.... I have two plants germing and I have two pots waiting on them... It seemed my last plant may have damped as well? I will cut down on water eminsly checking the soil before I water... I think what happened was I got alittle impatient with this grow... So now that I have one good ' learning experience ' under my belt I'm just intrested in doing it right this time!!!

Not really spiritual bra, just think that there should be a sort of respect almost to mother earth and hinduism kind of portrays that imo the best! So I am sortof superstitious when it comes to growing... Actually I would love to learn more about Hindu worship and such... If anyone knows a good source it would be much apreciated or if you want to discuss it pm me!!! Thanks rolling for the advice actually it was called marley after rita but I thought it too risky to name it after a girl before sexesd as I might jinx it.. So I thought Marley went both ways and was kinda safe

 

The name of the game with growing any kind of plants from seed is reducing the odds. Damping a fungus so ya gotta sterilize everything being used this will reduce the odds not just on that but on many soil based pest too. Boiled water will help too. Perlite will help on the over watering front and stop soil from going heavy and is an mj growers must have.
But as been said some seeds are just rubbish due to many factors age of seeds over breeding old parent stock latent genes or just plain ripping you off.

 

Ok, well I've sterilized everything and I have 2 seeds germing!! I've let them sit for two days they should pop tomorrow!!! I am ready for grow round 2!!!!

 

ok so they popped today!!! but I'm going to let them sit through the night to get that root growth a bit larger, I will get up early and plant in the morning!!! (most likely)

Day 1 10:18 pm September 24th


I planted 2 new seeds today both of them germinated in 72 hours so I'm praying for some good fast (female) plants. Everything within my grow box has been sterilzed to make sure all those damned pythium wilt spores are gone! Aparently what had happened was the store where my soil was bought from had an outbreak and when i bought they're miracle grow it was tainted. I went back and asked them about the wilt and they had said all that and they reimburst me for the miracle grow, all in all i can't blame them... it wasn't that bad.... Oh well i'm off to go watch tv!!

 

That's pretty cool, they could've said nothing and just acted like you messed something up.

Day 2 12:09 September 26

It's been 1 1/2 days I have 2 precious babys! I'm worried about wilt again!! Is it normall for alittle brown to be on the stems? It didn't look unhealthy or anything like wilt realy... This isn't the original item 9 it's mixed with a wierd strain I've never herd of... This the new strain will be Item X and I'm not sure if the brown tinge is something about the strain. Or what?

 

Ok, so I got home to check on them again today... It's not brown it's purple? Could this be a ph problem? Anyway i've already gotten farther than I have before my biggest plant is already growing it's 2nd set!!! Haha I'm going to look up some more on this purple problem... My leaves are green it's just the stem in a few places...I'll go read up now!!

 

Purple or red could well be the strain and it is a new plant. Trouble is ya could read to much into it if its growing nicely i'd leave it be. If its a ph problem well it germin and sprouted at that ph so ya cant be to far off the ph.
As for soil some garden centre or supplier store there bags of soil out side and all manner of nasty's get into it.
