Went to an outdoor music and Fall festival today with hubby today, wore shoes there...then took them off as soon as we got in, and walked around barefoot the entire time. It was so freeing, I might have to do this more often! I got a few raised eyebrows which I thought was strange (not like we were at the opera), but I noticed some others were walking around barefoot too. It's weird how you notice barefooters, when you're barefoot. lol
wow, you're becoming one of "them" faster than i would have expected. nah, i'm glad you enjoyed it. it really is just so much more comfortable, in most situations anyway.
Lol “One of them” Not sure how often I’ll do it but it felt right today. The festival was in a park so the grass was short and soft, if it was pavement, I might not have been able to the entire day.
probably not, but you would be surprised how fast your feet do adapt if you just start going barefoot even semi-regularly.
I've been going to a park near my work on my lunch break a couple of times a week, it has this giant grass field and I like to walk barefoot on it. And I've noticed a few other women do the same. We never speak to each other but we exchange knowning glances and I feel like we have a little barefoot sisterhood lol Anyways glad you enjoyed yourself!
There is something lovely about being barefoot, isn't there? It sounds a bit new age-y, but I feel more "Grounded" and connected to the Earth when I go sans-shoes.
Lol Mel, yes a little sisterhood of barefooters Interestingly, and somewhat unexpected, my feet feel so good today. I wear high heels and wedges a lot, so I think going barefoot yesterday served as therapy for my feet.
Yesss, I felt at ease...walked with ease and felt more relaxed. When I’m wearing heels in general, I’m having to look down more often to make sure I’m not stepping on something uneven or whatever. I don’t wear heels all the time but enough to see the difference in my mental well being yesterday, after going barefoot. Barefoot life is good for the mind, I guess.
When I wore shoes again, I realised a difference, that most of us don't really treat the ends of our legs as if they end in heel and toes, we treat them like they ARE shoes. It's subtle and hard to explain but now even when wearing shoes I tend to use my toes as if I were barefoot. In shoes it's like they're just kind of hanging there inside the shoe and whole foot moves differently.
I was going to post that. Lol I feel that there has been a stark contrast to wearing shoes after going all day at the festival without them. I find that my feet hurt more after a day of wearing heels (comfortable heels) than the day I went without shoes. Like your feet stretch more and are not stuck in one position in a shoe all day, would be my guess.
I remember my first barefoot concert experience. It was an event in the middle of a downtown area with high rise buildings all around and no grass. The warm pavement in the evening was very comforting. I remember my feet tingling afterwords, in a good way.
