You keep acting as if there's "evidence" that psychic powers don't exist, yet in all your posts you haven't shown us a single piece of concrete evidence.

 

This isn't concrete evidence, but it's evidence enough if you can use your brain properly. James Randi offers a million dollars to anyone who claims to have psychic powers. All psychics run and cower in fear of him. Hmmm... I wonder why. And if psychic stuff is actually athentic, why doesn't anyone come out and get a million fucking dollars? I sure as hell would!

 

James Randi AKA "The Amazing Randi" started out as an illusionist--and he's still trying to pull an illusion on everybody. Here's how his latest ruse works:

1. He sets up a fantasy "definition" of how he believes psychic abilities should work, if they exist. Considering he doesn't really believe they exist, how can he possibly say what they would be like if they did?

2. He sets up a test of psychic abilities that requires the test taker to demonstrate that their abilities fit his unstated fantasy definition.

3. He tells everybody that if they can't pass this test, they're not really psychic.

This methodology is unscientific, and in fact it's downright deceitful. However I don't think he set out to be deceitful--I think he just doesn't have sufficiently rigorous reasoning abilities to understand why his approach is deceitful. In other words, he's being taken in by his own illusion.

Do I sound like I'm "cowering in fear" of James Randi? His test is simply irrelevant to what psychic ability is really about. He's making a big show of knocking down straw psychics of his own creation, while the real psychics continue walking around untouched.

James Randi offers psychics of any form to come in to take his test. Randi has no definition of psychic abilities. At all. He tested psychic healers, mind readers, clairevoyences, people who have TK, and so on. The test can be anything. The "Test" is a test of psychic abilities that BOTH RANDI AND THE PARTICIPANT AGGREE ON!

You know absolutely nothing about Randi, so stop spouting your shit around.

I'm sorry to be such an asshole to you, but if you know about Randi and you STILL believe in psychic stuff, then your an idiot. Plain and simple.

 

Yeal, what do you get from this arguement? You are in a psychic forum where we all obviously believe in the existence of psychic ability, and most of us have experienced it in some form or another.

Do you not realize this is an effort in futility on your part? This is much like the debate on religion. Nearly everyone thinks their way of believing is right, or at least right for them, and no amount of argument is going to change that. I just don't get what you hope to accomplish.

I've shown that I know something about Randi. You seem to believe that if you speak in emphatic absolutes, it makes you more believable, even when you're lying.

And in all this time, you STILL have never bothered to ask me why I believe I have psychic abilities. Just not interested, I guess. Or afraid to have more doubt cast on your already shakey beliefs, more likely.

I've had a pissload of "psychic" stuff happen to me. (like my random voices thread) I once was sitting eating chicken noodle soup and a peice of chicken launched across my table and into another room. So I believe is psychics and TK? Nope. All of them can be explained.

But yeah, since your psychic, so to James Randi and become a millionaire. Explain to him how your gift works so he'll know what to look for. Set up a test with him and win a million dollars.

Make a thread about your ability, and I'll listen, since I'm pretty sure you won't be looking for attention.

yes before i did dxm all summer i used to close my eyes or look into dark and see black... now when i close my eyes or im in a pure dark room i just see complex patterns of geometric shapes bright colors and lights moving toward me in illusionary patterns

 

The geometric patterns of light are called Phosphenes and are completely normal (especially when pressure is applied to the optic nerve)
