    Surely I do! Some times I manage to wake up and rush to my guitar to record a tune just heard

    You could buy one of those lucid dreaming machines.
    One was called the Nova Dreamer. It wasn't very well made, but it did work.
    I think its currently 100 euros from a Polish company (may be under a different name). There's a newer machine made by someone else too.

    Stephen Laberge has written some good books on it.

    The harder way is to meditate and show intention regarding what you plan to dream about.
    But yes, when the thought of dreaming enters your head you could look at your watch, or check to see if the light is real. These sorts of things are good to detect real life from dreamworld.

    The whole topic of dreams absolutely fascinates me. They give me huge moments of inspiration. And also baffle me for years haha!
