Luxie- that is 1 helluva timeline! Your pictures are awesome, mixed with your outfits they all look like pro shoots. I can't believe how much your dreads shrunk! That's so cool u have friends that can "donate" instadreads for extensions. How long did you leave your wraps in? I was gonna use embroid thread but not sure if colors will run or string will fall apart or just get plain ole swallowed alive LOL

thanks doodlyii they shrunk lots and are still shrinking in places-bahhh they will nevagrow just get fatta' I had the wraps in from the start till maybe 6months? then I took em all out but may put a few in soon to even out some major bumps. I used embroidararyy thread and it worked perfectly ^.^

It's kinda hard finding the compromise between how awesome it looks when you want your hair deliberately showing the side cut, and how empty and weird the underneath bit looks in certain ponytail scenarios, or when your face doesn't feel like suiting the starkness.... I'm still trying to figure out whether to keep some sideburn bits long infront of my ears, or keep the whole side clean-shaven. Kinda need some loose flyaway bits around my face when my hair is in a normal low ponytail, but then they look weird when in a higher ponytail.

Amy, it is scary shaving the fly away beauties. you feel so much more naked. I'd personally leave them, I like the look of them around the face. cutting mine was a mistake, I had 5mins before I had to go somewhere and decided to clean up the shave did it too quick and was LIKEFUCKIHAVETOSHAVETHELOT! next to the bare shave the stringy bit f hair looked pathetic so I just went for it. felt a bit insecure for the first day or two than I got over it...

Lux I loooove the side cut. Its so cool! If I had bigger balls I'd do it...but I dont. lol. I cant believe how incredibly thick and gorgeous your dreads have become as well! Simply amazing.
