You sectioned yours in the beginning, yes? How big were the sections? Your dreads are about the size I'd like mine to end up being, that's my reason for asking.

TBH dont do a brick formation otherwise you will end up with lines & big gaps
Mine started inbetween an inch & 2 inches, but alot of them split in the first couple of months & now they are re-joining again

 

By brick formation, you mean that weirdness I saw on the Knotty Boy video? If so, no, I'm not doing that!

How thick is your hair? I'm sorry to ask so many questions. I'm just trying to gauge how I should start mine. Yours are darling!

 

my friend nina, she clipped most of my hair out of the way, then grabbed bits to backcomb. i told her to try to not cross over the root bases, cause itd give me grief later and shes done a good job. it isnt a grid around my head.. from what i can tell you cant really see a 'pattern' to it =]

Update time!!

Serious amounts of congo-ing
At least 3 groups of 2 dreads have fused at the roots!
You can see the lil cotton wrap that has been swallowed by my dread, it was put in the night I got them back combed.
