    She is 21 years old

I think he sucks and is misleading masses of people with his lyrics, videos and album covers.

I think the same of lady gaga, rhianna, jayzee, lil wayne, eminem and scores of others.

    Thoughts?

    the best what? who?

personal taste is personal taste. i don't need to know more then that.

i'm not really that interested in personalities. entertainers or anything else.

i mean i care about that people are considerate of each other

but other then that, i'm interested in what people create. not because or about themselves as a person.

i think people are completely backwards to obsess on actors and virtually ignore writers. or cg artists, among other things.

There are a lot of 'stars' in popular media that mislead people. Keep people misinformed and dumbfounded. Sure, I like rap and some country music (hah! Not much though), but some people just send the wrong message. On top of that, these people are constantly being pushed by the media and the press, and I don't mean pushed like 'to their wits end' but pushed like heroin through the streets of suburban neighborhoods. You name it: The Kardashians, Miley Cyrus, Justin Beiber, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Chris Brown, One Direction, Taylor Swift, Pitbull, Rhianna, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, now some chick named Ariana Grande? (Looking at this list, I now see a song that Paul McCartney apparently collaborated on with Rhianna and Kanye West... maybe the conspiracy IS TRUE?! LOL)

I don't judge people by their taste in music (or at least I try not to), but perhaps that's just a little lie I tell myself to prevent myself from feeling bad about judging others. Whether or not we like it or it's acceptable, we all do it and it seems like the music some people listen to and a pre-rendered imagination of a person's personality sometimes go hand-in-hand. It's just some sort of crazy self-defense mechanism I guess? When it boils down to it, no two people are the same though. Listening to the music I listen to tends to keep me away from people that are further down the spectrum a-ways, musically. Maybe it's a good thing... maybe not. People like what people like though, so who 'am' I to judge what music people listen to? How would I know what they've been through to make certain choices and do what it is they do? It's just a thing. Sort of an uncontrollable subconscious pre-determination on my part.

The one thing that people don't realize about certain rap tunes is the lyrics. What they're feeding their heads with. The seeds they're planting and the harvest they produce! The physical embodiments of the inner workings of their minds after listening to such garbage for long periods of time. And the thing about that is they don't even know it, because that's all they know. So, all in all, it's not even their fault that they don't know and refuse to listen to the OPINION of someone not unlike myself. Even as far as to completely reject it and tell me I'm full of shit. Obviously they aren't paying attention. Or maybe they are and that's just what they want out of life.

I guess the real question is the age-old "How far down the rabbit hole do you want to go??" (or have you gone?/Are you?)

Violence, murder, destruction, ignorance, sadness, love gone wrong, rape, if you're not the baddest m'fkr on the block then you ain't shit. And you have to compete to be that person, which means going through anyone and everyone that stands in your way that you feel is a step higher on the ladder than you and throwing them to the ground. And that's just putting it lightly. People listen to that crap! They don't want to educate themselves or help old ladies across the street. All they want to do is fight. Which, yes, fighting is a part of life. To a point, it is a constant struggle... but not that kind of struggle. People work against each other when they should be working with each other for a common good. It's sickening.

Ahhh, now that that's out of my system... You asked :D

I don't have any kids, but if I did and they listened to that kind of stuff, I'd just throw subtle hints at em. People are gonna do what they want to do. But I'd probably tell em to turn it down or turn it off before coming in the house though haha.

When my daughter went through that awful "rap" stage. I told her I do not want to hear the nasty language so she needed headphones. It was disgusting.

People are being led by the media and the powers that be and to be honest...they aren't even subtle about it anymore. I worry about our youth...what do they stand for? They seem so...robotic.

As far as today's popular music...it sucks. Most of them aren't even musicians anymore, they are a "look" a commodity. With the equipment they use these days...anyone can sing and be a pop or rap star.

And I'd love to see that Kenye asshole be shunned from any awards things or events and that brainless "thing" he has on his arm.

Besides that there already were discussions about this and several other artists in your post (lady gaga for one) i think the OP adds nothing substantial on this, or invites others to add much substantial.
It seems mostly another pointless invite to criticize pop music or Kayne West, which gets kind of lame, since pretty much anybody with a developed music taste has nothing good to say about his music or mainstream pop music.
Frankly it once again triggered an association about LornaDoom's threads :p

Horrible person / average rapper / outstanding producer.

I am a fan of his work.

Hm intriguing.. with his work do you mean the music on itself or just/mainly the production values? What makes you a fan?
For instance, can you love a piece of music mainly or mostly because it is well produced? I of course also find good production a must for the hip hop i like, and without the same attention to how they make the sound 'juicy' and the beats pounding (or groovy and laidback) their raps wouldn't interest me nearly as much. But i have to dig the music on itself first. I can't be a fan of just the outstanding production when the content seems like the lamest pop cliche ever.

It does sound a lot better when the lyrics are meaningful (y'know, besides love songs) and when they have the practicality to piece it together just right.

I like rap for a few different reasons. Sometimes just because I feel gangster inside or just to hear a bassline. Even if it was produced with a machine, keyboard or computer.

From my research, they are all illuminati and free mason puppets. With the signs and symbols backing them. Their minds are filled with garbage from the elite and music is made to get people ready for the new world order. Robots. Lucifer. Obey

The overall quality of his output is very good. If you listen to one of Kanye's first two albums, or the one from 2010, you will see the material is very well put together, and that Kanye does very much have his own sound. The production on his albums is very elaborate, and his work often combines rap, soul and gospel with an enjoyable pop sensibility. From the production aspect, Kanye could very well be considered a genius. People look at Kanye as a rapper and egotistical celebrity troll, but they don't realize that most of the actual music (the beats, samples, etc.) on his albums were his creation.

Another one of my favorites (off his first album)...

Of course. I feel I can be mindful of this while still enjoying the music, however. But you are absolutely right.

Eminem no, absolutely no way. Also you mentioned him last, so im guessing you ran out of things to say and used the name.

Listen to the Eminem Show album and compare his lyrics with all the artists you named.

Eminem fights against the corrupt, the others you name sold their sole for money as far as i'm concerned.

Some of the things i find trippy is like the song "judas" by lady gaga. Where they make judas out to be some kind of hero instead of a villian, traitor that he was.
Also the "rainman" that all of them put in thier songs. It is not the rainman you would think but a different rainman.

No he doesn't. I bet if someone asked you say lyrics from his work you couldn't quote one verse.
