It was just announced yesterday that MCR will make a return for a show in LA this December. Tickets went on sale today and are already sold out. There are speculations about whether or not this is a full return with tours and new music. All I can say is I'm excited. Anyone else have an opinion? (if you don't like them, please be kind, thanks)
I was more of a goth than emo so MCR had to suck. The real depression music was Peter Murphy and Siouxsie and the Banshees. The classic goths of the 70's and 80's. Plenty of kids my age were into MCR I just had to be different.
Nothing wrong with Mad for it Manchester - With the Bee buzzing to great effect in the 90.s t'was a Grand time
There is a whole load of teenagers who write things in MCR youtube comments about how sad they are that MCR was broken up before they were old enough to hear them. I guess it's a bit like if Kurt hadn't died, they just broke up in 94 when i was 8.. and when I was 15 Nirvana had played a reunion show. there would have been millions of teenagers like me at it. there are teenage emos still. i just typed "emo kid" into instagram. snake bites and the hair and everything. I guess it's a fashion with a cult following now as opposed to being THE fashion.
BLOOD, BLOOD! GALLONS OF THE STUFF GIVE THEM ALL THAT THEY CAN DRINK AND IT WILL NEVER BE ENOUGH so give them blOOD BLOOD BLOOOOD grab a glass because there's going to be a flood
I only know one MCR song You know the one I cant think of it right now My old boyfriend was into them when I was a teen and I made fun of him for it, not based on the music because I never gave it a chance but just based on the whole emo aesthetic . Then I heard that song years later and I was like well this is alright
Yes! Welcome to the Black Parade, that's it, I looked it up We'll carryyyyyy on We'll carryyyy on And though you're dead and gone, believe me Your memory will carryyyyy on You'll carryyyy on It's a pretty good song! Maybe I should listen to the rest of their stuff Good guess!
i never really bothered to learn what they sing. i remember the radio station i used to listen to would occasionally announce a song by my chemical romance, and then some shitty music would start to play so i would either tune it out or change the station. i also never met an emo person as far as i know. when i went to college everyone used to bitch about emo kids, but i never encountered one myself. i assumed they were a myth. i hear that rumor every couple years and it never seems to happen.
That whole album is the peak of their career in my opinion. For its time, and considering how derivative the genre is, it's pretty good. It's the only album I owned of theirs but I did like that older song.. I'm NOOOT OOOH KAAAY I'm NOT OKAAAAAY AAAAY AAAAAAAAAY I'm not OHHHH KAAAAAAY AAAAAY AAAAAAY You wEEEARRRR ME OUUUUUUTTT. I like the video.
from writing these comments i've realised if they extend this thing and play a UK show I would like to go.
