So I went into my chamber of sleep the other day, to lay upon my bed of rest and journey to the realm of Morpheus, when, looking at my ship of dreams, I found it to be already occupied. On the foredeck, above the board stacked with volumes of philosophy, nursery rhymes, and propositional logic, laid the Grey One. He of three legs only. At the stern, curled up like a woolly caterpillar, the Princess. And on the mid deck the Little White Demon, he who destroys house plants, turns on ceiling lights and water faucets, and leaps at the jams of doors. Which raised the question in my mind, "How do they know that the purpose of the object on which they currently abode...is sleep"? Entering a mode of advanced prepositional thinking I quickly surmised that the beings known as Felis catus, or Felis silvestris catus, must be able to attune themselves the the latent vibratory patterns acquired by material objects. Having, myself, frequently inhabited this "bed" to recharge my psychic energy and receive divine messages, such as my previously posted 444 episodes, it must have absorbed enough "Good Vibrations" for the little carnivorous rascals to detect. So, upon entering the chamber, they are immediately and irretrievably drawn to climb aboard and nestle down into the psychic field of sleep. It also happens to me many times....especially as I get older. I take it as a sign of an increased attunement to the web of life and a sign that I am growing stronger everyday. That's probably why I get tired. So I think I am on the cusp of developing a coherent theory of Feline behavior and their interaction with psychic fields. I am leaning toward their supposed "innocent" stomping around on my keyboard when I am pursuing the net as, in reality, a purposeful disruption of certain sectors of my hard drive via "random" pussy paw character generation as a reason for all the cat videos and such in cyber space. Or should I say psyber space? The only flaw in my theory that I can find at the moment is that the White Demon also sleeps in that big potted flower plant my wife has in the living room, the Princess sometimes sleeps on the game room stairs, and the Grey One can be found catching a quick few in the bathtub from time to time. I may be able to explain these aberrations though. I'm thinking that I have, on occasion, fallen asleep in the tub, so I probably left a few vibes there. I believe the Princess may be pissed at me because I don't give her enough "goodies" every day and she may be trying to assassinate me by causing me to trip over her as I go downstairs to watch Turner Classic Movies. I believe I'm pretty solid on this one as the 1942 movie Cat People was on tonight. And finally I get sleepy every time I walk past that damn house plant. Further verification has just appeared in the form of the Princess who has just arrived at my side and is tapping me on the foot and yelling at me. Probably picked up my brainwaves from the other room. A clear sign of their abilty to sense unconventientl thought patpernsss I'm ghetting sleepy... So tired... i eo6
