Hello, guys. I really need help. My cat is almost ten years old. It has always been a very healthy cat. All of a sudden, some months ago, I found a very red and worrying rash under his armpit. I went to the vet, he told me it was just a rash due to stress. But it didn't look like something due to psyche. It was blood red and the fur was missing. I told the vet: excuse me, doctor, but what if it deals with some parasite skin infection? Dust Mites? No...he told me. He prescribed me two kinds of pills . The second was antibiotics. With the first kind of pills, the rash was almost gone. The antibiotics cure was detrimental. My cat started losing weight and having inappetence. After just one month, my cat was unrecognizable. A skeleton with fur. With very little appetite. With colitis. I gave him some probiotic and vitamin supplements. But how do I make him gain weight? he is still thin. I feed him five times a day.
I really do think you perhaps need to speak to an alterative vet to get a second opinion . We are not qualified on here unless there is a member who is a vet amongst the membership

So sorry to hear your cat had been through all of that. How old is he? The colitis could be causing the weight loss, I would imagine. If your current vet isn’t being very helpful, I suggest finding a new one. Best wishes for your furry little buddy. <3
Very good. Thank you so much. He is improving day by day. The summer sun is improving his health. I am feeding him cat dry food and sometimes fish and minced meat. He is gaining some weight, finally.
