They present a very easy scapegoat for those unwilling or unable to consider the wider socioeconomic and political issues surrounding the problem or perceived problem of the day. Often, but not always, tied to an underlying xenophobic distrust of otherness.

 

Its always the easiest thing to blame immigrants for every single problem.

that being said, most of us don't have a problem with muslims / arabs and such. we're supposedly being taken over by mexico. which is silly, because nearly all the places i lived originally belonged to mexico (after the natives) and they technically WERE there first. or second. whatever. doesn't matter. i think it's nice.

 

don't forget, it wasn't too long ago a "fucking mick or dirty wop" couldn't get a job or respect in the usa. it's not racism, it's waves of immigration coming in too fast for a lot of people to cope with comfortably. you get over it.

1)USA and Britain are completely different.
America is a virtually all immigrant country , albeit with a dominant WASP grouping.A population of natives ,6 x that of Britain disappeared in the original invasion , so it doesnt really have a leg to stand on re "anti immigration".

2)We wont "get over " immigration.We got over every wave for 2500 years until the 1950s.Every group integrated.Yes the Vikings , Normans , Romans invaded and took over some / alot of power , but invasion aint "sensible immigration"We never signed up to immigration of the type we see today.

Hugenots ,French , Germans, Jesuits , Italians , 1st wave of Poles , Russians etc etc for hundreds of years all came over and integrated in sensible numbers.
Millions of Indians , Pakistanis etc are an ENTIRELY different story.

3)What appals me is that the media Establishment say " people have it wrong" and "people are racist" .NO we're expressing our democratic rights , which regularly get fucked over by some corporate parasite wanting to lower wages with often 3rd world labour and culture.And to disunite our culture and society.

Just like France rejected the EU COnstitution overwhelmingly and now its French law , and the Establishment's decided Turkey will join the EU.
We're asking for democracy , not shite.

 

every group in power before those groups integrated were resented. don't bother denying it. wheneversomeone shows up and overwhelms the old customs they're going to be resented. that's human nature. the new ones coming in always get the cheap shit jobs, until their children and grandchildren become more integrated. the original natives of your own little island are barely recognizable, so if you're fair, you'll admit that just like me, you're the product of mostly non-native peoples. i have no trouble with people trying to maintain their cultural identity, and i think a small crew trying to turn and entire country into something that suits THEM is asinine. but this latest wave will slow down and you WILL get over it.

 

But thats the point , we wont "get over it"- the damage has already been done and its growing
Every time Britain had immigration ( read "invasion") to the level of the past 50 years , we had war.Some wars won , some lost.

I dont particularly like Britain , half my grandparents were East European and even Im incensed by whats going to happen.Britain isnt like America.
Previous groups ( European) all wanted to integrate ( with the exception of some othordox Jews).But this is massively different - a SIGNIFICANT PORTION OF THEM
massively different way of life , beliefs culture , values ( or lack of in some cases) and a complete lack of will to integrate , let alone assimilate.Nothing to do with race , colour or nationality.
Diametrically opposed to the British or even Western way of life.
Soft touch Britain- as they say to themselves.

you think we haven't had troubles with people creating their own communities within the usa? that's just silly. i grew up around little saigon, little india, china town, little jerusalem, even german town. that's just in the garden grove, california area. but their children DO eventually integrate to some degree. 99% of our customs are multicultural to the point of bein unrecognizable to the original. i've been celebrating cinco de mayo and dia de los muertos, octoberfest, st. patty's day and mardi gras since i was a toddler. i don't even speak spanish, german, gaelic or french. the only concern you have, really, is making sure they don't change your laws to suit themselves alone. there's enough of you to do it, and that's an issue with every nation with a heavy immigration rate.

 

Hmm we've got 3rd generation Asians , or more.
And 40 percent of Birmingham is Muslim - hardly qualifies our 2nd city as having a "Little Mecca".

New York etc have always been multi ethnic.Southern Cal has been mixed Latino- European American since the Indians were virtually exterminated.
But whats happening in England is massively different to whats happening even in small parts of America.Maybe Americans want to put the brakes on immig , maybe they dont , I dont know.It aint my choice.
Whilst theres still an outstanding "Natives " dispute - I think Americans feel less inclined to put the breaks on immigration " as a whole"

Either way , its an outrage against( the myths that is...) democracy whats happening in Britain
