Well, Jeff Buckley and Radiohead are my all time favourites, cause, let's face it, they're just quality. It's been like that for years, and I don't see it changing soon.

I've recently become obsessed by The Futureheads, they just blow my mind away. I get so hyper when I listen to them. I've cut down on them though; I don't think they're good for my mind or body. Also, I've just properly discovered Van Morrison (Moondance), which I really love now.

Hmm... let's see... 'lovin' in my babies eyes' by Taj Mahal. It makes me feel all warm inside, and I can't help moving to it when I hear it.

Whats your favourite bands or music artists ever... Without a doubt, it's Led Zeppelin

What new bands or artists have you recently been listening to? A lot of '90s alternative stuff like REM, Pearl Jam, & Alanis Morissette as well as '80s punk like Black Flag & the Dead Kennedys.

Heard any songs that blew your socks off lately?? oh yes, and that would be "You Oughta Know" (Alanis Morissette)... it's weird b/c when I was in grade school, I'd hear her songs on the radio every now & then and I thought that she kind of sucked, but now I realize that she is such a brilliant songwriter & a very distinctive singer.

Currently they stand as being: Beatles (more specifically in their '66 to '67 Revolver/Sgt. Pepper/Magical Mystery Tour period), early Pink Floyd, Nirvana, and Donovan. My 'all time faves' list does change over time though, but at this time, they're the ones.

What new bands or artists have you recently been listening to?
Coldplay (looking forward to their third album), Yeah Yeah Yeahs (I think they're great & am really looking forward to their second album), The White Stripes (I really like their 'Elephant album & am looking to buy more of their stuff), Placebo (bit disappointed with their last album though). Going a bit further back in time I'd add a bit of Sheryl Crow, a bit of Muse, Chilli Peppers, a bit of Tom McRae and a bit of Badly Drawn Boy to the list too.

Heard any songs that blew your socks off lately??
I think 'Art Star' and 'Bang' by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are superb! I love the guitar soloing in 'Ball and Biscuit' by the White Stripes. These three are IMO the best tracks I've heard in the last few months (although not necessarily released in the last few months).

Heard an album yesterday I was very impressed by: "The Moldy Peaches" (by The Moldy Peaches) - Hadn't heard of them before, but a friend of mine is a fan I thought I should hear it...Really great stuff, touching and damn funny at the same time! Which is kinda rare really. Here's a sweet song from the album...

-Anyone Else But You-

"You're a part time lover and a full time friend
The monkey on you're back is the latest trend
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

I kiss you on the brain in the shadow of a train
I kiss you all starry eyed, my body's swinging from side to side
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

Here is the church and here is the steeple
We sure are cute for two ugly people
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

The pebbles forgive me, the trees forgive me
So why can't, you forgive me?
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

I will find my nitch in your car
With my mp3 DVD rumple-packed guitar
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

Du du du du du du dudu
Du du du du du du dudu
Du du du du du du dudu du

Up up down down left right left right B A start
Just because we use cheats doesn't mean we're not smart
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

You are always trying to keep it real
I'm in love with how you feel
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

We both have shiny happy fits of rage
You want more fans, I want more stage
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

Don Quixote was a steel driving man
My name is Adam I'm your biggest fan
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

Squinched up your face and did a dance
You shook a little turd out of the bottom of your pants
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

Du du du du du du dudu
Du du du du du du dudu
Du du du du du du dudu du
But you"

Other song titles include; Who's Got The Crack?, Downloading Porn With Davo and Ballad of HelenKeller and RipVanWinkle :)

I haven't heard too much Moldy Peaches but saw one of them, Kimya Dawson, playing solo supporting Herman Dune last year. Part of this whole "anti-folk" (or whatever) thing that's been around for a couple of years. I'd also recommend Jeffrey Lewis ... not quite sure how all these bands are related, I think Jeffrey Lewis drew the artwork for a Moldy Peaches album or two, and Jeffrey's brother Jack plays on Herman Dune's album... anyway all good stuff and hopefully I will be getting to see the brothers Herman Dune and Jeffrey Lewis in Paris next weekend, yay!:D

You can download the video of the Moldy Peaches' "Lucky Number Nine" here:

Kimya Dawson solo, according to my friend, is even better than The Moldy Peaches. Mainly laid back acoustic tunes, side-stepping the crazy bursts of punk which are dotted about the peaches' album. Don't let those those bursts put you off of course, still good stuff. How did you find her?

She has a livejournal too which is rather bizarre in a way...Just under her real name...If her real name is Dawson that is.

First I've heard of the 'anti-folk' scene, but I get the feeling it's quite the wonderful little genre :D

I got to see Herman Dune AND an unannounced Jeffrey Lewis playing in Brighton a few weeks ago ... absolutely amazing:D Jeff Lewis is one of the best vaguely folkish alternative singer-songwriters around, anyone who listens to one of his self-effacing and incredibly inventive little songs will fall in love, I guarantee:) He did one song about seeing Will Oldham on a train ... how geekishly indie can you get? www.thejeffreylewissite.com

I've also heard good things about Turner Cody as part of this "anti-folk" (or whatever) scene but have yet to hear him.
