The pixies are my number one choice, followed closely by Tom Waits and QOTSA. The Beatles are always a fall to, they never get old.

Try the whole album Nothing lasts, but nothing is lost by Sphongle while tripping. You won't regret it.

And of course some lengthy guitar jams to keep you floating!

Does anyone know any seriously really good electric guitar solos, no speech?

    I like pink floyd
    Jimi hendrix

But one time I went to my friends house and they were smoking some serious stuff, and thier older brother was playing this amazing music in his room, it was just electric guitar and cool beats.
anyone know any good artists that make that kind of music??

Try the long jam version of Fleetwood Mac - Rattlesnake shake. A must for psychedelic guitar jams are Earthless and Tia Carerra. Some songs you can listen for free on their myspace.
Earthless' both albums are instrumental and very awesome, of Tia Carrera I recommend the Heaven and hell album. Also instrumental lengthy jams.

Another song I recommend for the psych lovers is the lengthy Ruler of the universe by Orange Sunshine (a cover of Terry Brooks & Strange, but with sitar AND electric guitar) and the song Bhairavi Dhun by Siena Root (of the album Kaleidoscope). Best of all is, these bands are all from today ;)

That stuff is more for the lovers of Jimi Hendrix kind of guitarjams, I guess. If you want stuff which is more in the vein of Pink Floyd:

Farflung - Landing on Cydonia (trip over 15 minutes :) )
Fleetwood Mac (huh? yes for real!) - The madge session (17 minutes version on several compilation albums of the early years)

    Psychedelic rock with folky influences:

Dead man - Deep forest green (15 minutes)

Let us know what you think! :)

just because the band name has mushroom in it doesn't mean you should trip to it. Techno music tripping? How retarded...

You already stated that opinion. It's clear you feel retarded trippin on techno, other people in this thread obviously have different experiences.

Although techno is one of the electronic styles of music (I thought, or maybe it's used here for all electronic music?) I don't even like sober, I had awesome experiences with other electronic music. Especially trance which I also don't really like sober in general and psytrance.

Bands like Mudvayne or Tool aren't for me while tripping. I don't like metal in general on mushrooms, except maybe if I'd really really feel like it. I do like some stoner rock and heavy doom like Sleep - Dopesmoker though, although I appreciate that more while just toking :D

i heard this band.. im not sure what it was called but it fell into the "shoe gaze" (like on the south park episode where the kids dane by lookin at their shoes and then every 3 seconds take a drag of their ciggy) genre, usually i wouldn't listen to it, but when i was trippin it was the greatest thing ever, so yea, i agree with whoever said that any music when your tripping is great. BUT i would like to listen to:

Massive Attack - mezzanine (recommended for when your sober even!)
    Deltron 3030 - any
    Gorillaz - demon days
    Del Tha Funky Homosapien
    Dizzee Rascal
At The Drive-In (early stuff and relationship of command)

and heres a song my mates wrote i think would be fucking awesome, its called heaven and hell, just guitars

i don't usually listen to music while i trip because it always sounds a little off, HOWEVER, nothing has saved me from a bad trip like Air. I'd recommend "how does it make you feel" by Air to anyone on acid who is slipping into negativitiy.

i love to trip to tGD esp early 73 or late 78. phish pre-hiatus is amazing. SCI holds a very dear place in my heart. Then the rest is random bluegrass like YMSB ect. Kelpe is fucking sick tripping/stoned/sober. I'm also getting into some downtempo.

I love alot of those bands, but if youve never listened to shpongle while tripping, youve never tripped.

And do you not consider the disco buiscuts techno, i saw them at bonnaroo and it sounded like techno to me. Definitely wasnt rock. Awesome show though.

Wow are you serious? lol That album is almost entirely pure funk, save for one jazz song near the end.
But yea Kaki King is great, Lightning Bolt is another instrumental band (well, there's sometimes singing but it's more like, well, I cant explain it really) but it's bass and drums, not guitar.

I want to know names of Jimi Hendrix's amazing guitar solos, there's one where he hit 2 doses of blue montreal acid and he's just jamming, it gives me GOOSE BUMPS!! :]
