This is my first post too. But i'm so with you on Grateful Dead...usually anything "live"...a bootleg even. It's like your mind totally controls the music and it flows through your body. The weirdest thing i've ever felt yet so happy and warm all at the same time. Wonderful trip!
anything psychadelic: the beatles-anything after rubber soul pink floyd- especially dark side of the moon, wish you were here, or piper at the gates of dawn tool- lateralus or aenima the doors hendrix zeppelin radiohead- especially kid a sigur ros many more of course.
telafon tel aviv - fahrenheit fair enough. don't bother with their new albumn. the first one was made for LSD--it's 41 minutes you'll never forget.
whatever suits my fancy.. usually what i listen to when i am sober. moe., ben harper, phish, radiohead, etc. it all depends on the "mood".
i use to be into classic rock. Know im mroe into the hardcore/screamo/indie scene. Some bands i would defently reccomend for tripping are -the mars volta -the postal service -between the buried and me
The Grateful Dead Herbie Hancock Soulive Medeski, Martin, and Wood Hendrix The Meters Sly Stone .... Anything you like straight, you will probably just like more while tripping.
I'm probably resurrecting a long dead thread here, but I think you all deserve to know that no music beats Ravi Shankar whilst tripping. Especially if you are leaning towards a more spiritual trip, because he seems to bring you back to that divine spark where it all began. Just that ancient Indian feeling it gives off is so enlightening...yea get some incense going, light some candles and toss in some Ravi Shankar...BEST TRIP EVER Oh and I should also add My Bloody Valentines 'Loveless"...mmm so surreal and syrupy... And also Sigur Ros's ( ) and 'Takk' are both lovely atmospheric trip discs, each in their own special way.
Hendrix, grateful dead, gentle giant (gives awesome imagination!) , the early albums of the flaming lips, is what I usually listen to.
the shpongle trilogy-Are you shpongled, Tales of the inexpressible, nothing lasts but nothgin is lost Put simply simon posford is a psychedelic genius, i reckon he must have been tripping for at least part fo the time he was writing the music.
These other Simon Posford CD's are as good to trip with as the Shpongle project is; younger brother - a flock of bleeps. Celtic Cross - Hicksville. Hallucinogen - in dub. The Infinity Project - mystical experiences. Mystery of the Yeti - Part i _ Part ii. cheers
Pink Floyd, The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, Frank Zappa - especially the album he did with the Mothers of Invention "We're only in it for the Money". Anything you like.
